I bought a pair of these WD 10TB external drives to store raw production camera video. Both are still working fine after three months. I manually copy files to both drives. Old school, I know, but every RAID or mirroring failure I've ever faced has been more of pain to resolve than keeping drives entirely separate. The USB upload speed from my camera media is comparable to uploads to my internal SATA drives (SD card upload speed is the gating factor). The drives are plenty fast during video editing, and I see no playback lag in DiVinci Resolve 16.2 (4k 60fps 300 mbs). The drives spend most of their time idling, but they do 'thump' slightly every few seconds. Once I set them on an old mouse pad, I can't hear them thumping anymore. FYI, I have an old 2-TB WD drive bought at least five years ago, and it's still running fine. 5

Just make sure you get the elements version. The Passport version has the built in encryption that, to date, I've not figured out how to delete. Formatting doesn't seem to work. Since we encrypt using Bitlocker, no need for a second encryption 5

The drive works great in my NAS; it is performing exactly as expected with no known issues. My only complaint is the packaging. It is less annoying than that hard plastic clamshell packaging some things come in, and certainly not as hazardous to your hands, but it takes a lot of work to get the drive out of its packaging; it adds too much waste. It would be nice if the drive itself was sold separate, but it costs so much more to not include the packaging; WD needs to work on that. 5
