Able to withstand multiple deployments, the 1250' 2-Channel LC Single-Mode Fiber Tactical Snake Cable from Camplex is a rugged yet lightweight fiber optic cable designed for field productions, including outside broadcasts, industrial, mining, rental house use, and more. This highly flexible, tight-buffered tactical cable is constructed with a thick layer of Aramid fibers for crush resistance in high-traffic areas and a polyurethane sheath designed to withstand crushing by both military tanks and outside broadcast vehicles. Each is multistage, machine polished, and tested for <-55 dB RL.

A: The DM7X module's (6) pad inputs are 1/4 TRS jacks, and you have Left & Right 1/4 outputs Without knowing how you envisioned using the Hosa DTP803 snake with the Alesis DM7X module, I can't answer the question. Clearly the back of the DM7X module does not have a DB-25pin connecter, so using the Hosa snake to connect the pads to the module isn't going to work.

Q: 7. The title indicates this is 200' yet the specifications say 250', which is it? Also, is this using canare connectors like a used version that I saw or belden?

A: Hi Christian. This is a 200' assembly. I am admittedly not seeing where it says 250' in B&H's listing. This assembly uses Kings connectors certified for use with Belden 1684A. Thank you!

Q: 8. I’m interested in this to do a home theater system between pre-amp & amp, How about background noise/Hiss?

A: These are Hosa so they're not Class A but they're still reliable and relatively clean and quiet.

Q: 9. Are the CAT5 cables shielded, for compatibility with phantom power?

A: The Whirlwind 4-Channel Fan-to-Fan Ethercon Cat 5e Snake Cable (250') would support POE power. However this is not a shielded cable.

Q: 10. Can this be used to charge IDX System Technology IMicro V-Mount batteries?

A: It cannot. This is for X-Tap batteries only which that iMicro battery does not offer. You would need BH #IDVLDT1 instead which has the same connection as that battery.

I am always wanting to eliminate any link in my audio chain that will compromise any loss of signal.Saying that, If you were to see my studio, you would understand.Its still a home studio though, and to spend a large amount of money on a cable snake thats 5' long, I had to take time and think about it.After reading the spec on the cable and trying to look closely at the picture supplied, I decided, why not.I can see where the money has gone.No effort has been spared to construct this cable, its very robust, completely shielded and apart from dragging it behind a car for 40 miles, its definitely a once in a lifetime purchase.all cable ends both braided and then shrunk wrap coatings are as good as any top shelf cable I have, and if the specs are anything to go by, I'm yet to see any other cable of this type on the market that will match it.As with any signal path you still have to be mindful of what cables are running next to what, so I still don't run audio less than 150mm parallel to power and always cross at 90 degrees. My recording equipment gets moved around alot, so to have something that can handled regularly and not show signs of ware and tear is a big one. Although I have only had it for a short time, I reckon this cable will last as long as any I have.Well done to the crew at Mogami, well made.If you can afford it, you will only buy it once, thats worth considering. 5

this product is built to last. the strain reliefs are solid...the connections on the snake are well built and fit all the cords I have. not the first whirlwind product I have owned...and definitely not the last. 5

I had owned a whirlwind for many years and never had a problem with it. It was a 100ft 24 channel snake and became too large for my needs. I sold it and purchased a much cheaper (not whirlwind) 25ft 12 channel snake that lasted a couple of years and then had to have 3 channels repaired over a 6 month period. I had enough of that and purchased this one and I am expecting it to be the dependable snake that I had with it's big brother for so many years. 5

I use this product in a Childrens Room(K-6th), as a drop snake for the main sanctuary, and youth room(6th-12th graders). It is a great, low profile snake for the budget driven. I have owned many Whirlwind products and have had very few problems with them over the years. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants a reliable, and durable snake. 5
