The SilverFast Archive Suite 9 for Epson Perfection V800 Photo presents a unique solution for fast and easy archiving of slides, negatives and reflective originals. With the SilverFast Archive Suite you get a bundle of two programs: SilverFast Ai Studio and SilverFast HDR Studio. Since both programs are equipped with optimum functions, you will enjoy maximum processing speed as well as an efficient workflow. An integrated color management system that meets professional standards completes the package.

Using the scanner software SilverFast Ai Studio, you create 64-bit RAW data for subsequent processing in SilverFast HDR Studio. These RAW files contain all the data of your images and are therefore ideally suited for further optimization and processing. A: No, there is no film holder that will work with 127 negs.

A: Yes, for private use LaserSoft Imaging SilverFast SE can be installed on more then one computer as long as it is used with one scanner.

Q: 4. Will 127 b&w negatives work in the scanner?

A: The Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner comes with film holders designed for use with 35mm film and medium format film (120 or 220 film). 127 film is smaller than 120 film. Epson does not have a film holder designed for 127 film, but you may be able to use the medium format holder for the 127 film, or you may search for a third-party film holder for 127 film compatible for use with the Epson V600.

A: If you go to the Support webpage for the Epson Perfection V600 Photo on Epson's website and you click the [Downloads] tab, under the Operating System drop-down menu, you have the option to download the drivers for macOS 10.15.x Catalina as well as macOS 11 Big Sur.

A: You can use the Silverfast SE 8 software you already own with the V600, yes.

A: Yes, Silverfast SE9 lists Mac OS 10.13 as the minimum OS needed to work on a Mac.

Q: 8. will it scan 4 x 5 inch negative?

A: The short answer is no. The negative scanner light source isn't wide enough to scan 4x5; can handle medium format film, but nothing wider. The long answer is that you CAN scan larger film- but only with serious effort. It's a DIY solution, requiring repositioning your film, multiple passes and stitching in Photoshop. Of course there's also no holder for film larger than 120. That said, I HAVE scanned sheet film with it, but practically I would look elsewhere.

I just got the scanner last night - so far, so good. My only complaint is that I would have appreciated, and found useful, a paper user's manual. It is just easier to find the answer to a question in a book. 5

I have used my scanner mostly for scanning negatives in the profesional mode, and i am very impressed! It does a fabulous job on scanning photos also...i am very happy i purchased it. 5

Use it for everything from creating PDF files, copying directly to my printer, scanning photos in high resolution, ... Haven't yet had the opportunity to try the OCR capability but did download the software 5

LAST MARCH, (2010) WE PURCHASED THE V600. WE NEEDED A HIGH QUALITY SCANNER AS WE, MY WIFE AND I, ARE CREATING A PHOTO LIBRARY FOR BOTH SIDES OF OUR FAMILIES. SOME OF THE PHOTOS THAT WE HAVE SCANNED DATE BACK TO THE EARLY 1900'S. ONE OF THE MAIN FEATURES THAT WE LIKE ABOUT THE V600, AND TO US WAS NECESSARY, IS THAT IT WORKS WITH MANY SIZES OF NEGATIVES. THE V600 COMES WITH HOLDING TRAYS FOR 35MM SLIDES, OR 35MM FILM STRIPS, 2 1/4" SQUARE NEGATIVES OR STRIPS. PLUS IT WILL SCAN ANY PRINT OR DOCUMENT UP TO 8.5" X 11". TO THIS POINT, WE HAVE ENTERED APPROXIMATELY 4,500 SLIDES/NEGATIVES/PHOTOS INTO OUR LIBRARY USING THE V600. OUR COMPUTER SYSTEM IS A NEW (FEB. 2010) MAC, CURRENTLY RUNNING SNOW LEOPARD OS X 10.6.4. THE V600 SETUP AND STARTUP WAS ALMOST FLAWLESS. I DID NEED TO MAKE ONE CALL TO THE EPSON TECH SUPPORT TEAM. THEY HELPED ME AND I WAS UP AND RUNNING IN 15 MINUTES. SO FAR, THE V600 HAS NOT FALTERED AND WE STILL HAVE A FEW MORE THOUSAND PHOTOS TO GO BEFORE WE ARE DONE WITH THIS LARGE FAMILY PROJECT. THERE ARE MANY OTHER EXCELLENT FEATURES WITHIN THE V600, WHICH YOU CAN READ ABOUT IN THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION. WE FEEL WE HAVE MADE A GOOD INVESTMENT WITH THIS PURCHASE. 5

I use the Perfection V600 Photo Scanner to scan photos, documents, stamp collection, coin collection & to restore color to old photos. So far it has to be one of the finest scanners I have used to this date. I like the fact that there is no warm up time and is fast and color is very accurate. Epson makes good products. I own their R2880 & Artisan 50 Ink Jet Printers.. Very Happy With All Items To Date.. 5

With a large collection of 35mm slides, I've wanted some way to make digital copies of them - both to preserve them as well as to make prints of those I cherished the most. The Epson Perfection V600 Photo really fits the bill. It is easy to work. The quality of the resolution is great. Its ability to restore some of the faded images is an addded bonus. 5

I bought this primarily for for its speed due to having a backlight that doesn't require a long warm up. But it has lots of other good features like the built-in ICE flaw removal. It has three user modes from simple to advanced. I love the fact that I don't have to hold the lid up while I place a document or book on the scanner. 5
