Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this adapter change the focal length of the lens you're using?

A: No lens adapter in the world changes a lens's focal length. If it is a 50mm, it will be a 50mm forever. What does happen when the sensor changes, or as in this case, a very slight extension is made by the adapter's conversion lens, is a change in field of view. In this instance, the adapter is making up for the 0.7mm difference in the two lens mounts. What will happen is a tiny widening of the field of view as compared to what you would see on an regular Exakta/Topcon camera.

Q: 2. Will this adapter work on the fuji xt-3? I believe I may have purchased the wrong adapter.

A: Yes it should. This allows you to mount Exakta/Topcon mount lens to a Fujifilm X-mount camera. The X-T3 is an X-Mount Camera.

Q: 3. Will this work on a canon 5d without mirror issues?

A: Yes, the FotodioX Pro Slim Mount Adapter for Exakta Lens to Canon EOS Camera may be used on the Canon EOS 5D-series cameras without issues with the reflexing mirror inside the camera.

Q: 4. Hi, will this fit on a Steinheil Quinar 135/2.8? Thanks!

A: As long as your lens has an Exakta mount, the FotodioX Pro Slim Mount Adapter for Exakta Lens to Canon EOS Camera will fit.

Q: 5. Will this adapter control the aperture on Minolta A mount auto focus lenses?

A: It will not. This is a manual adapter that does not support lens functions that rely on electronic communication with the camera body.

Q: 6. What would I need to mount Pentax K lenses to the Sony A6300 ?

A: As the Sony Alpha a6300 Mirrorless Digital Camera uses the smaller Sony E-mount lens mount, it is not compatible for use with the FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter for Pentax K Lens to Sony A Mount Camera listed above. The options we carry that would allow you to connect a Pentax K-mount lens onto the Sony E-mount lens mount would be either the Novoflex Adapter for Pentax K Lens to Sony NEX Camera, B&H # NOAPKSNEX, the Voigtlander Adapter for Pentax K Lens to Sony E Mount Camera, B&H # VOEAK, or the Dot Line NEX Adapter for Pentax K Lenses, B&H # DODL0809.

Q: 7. What is the procedure for the removal of the adapter's internal correction lens?

A: A hammer and chisel. You probably know you will lose infinity focus. My guess you will be OK focusing from 8 ft to about 1/2 ft.

Q: 8. I want to confirm, that this product be perfecto for me. This adaptador is for lens Sony A to camera Sony E

A: FotodioX Pro Mount Adapter for Sony A-Mount Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera BH #FOSNYASNYEPR is for Sony A-Mount Lens to E-Mount Camera. Please note that this is a manual adapter. It does not support lens functions that rely on electronic communication with the camera body.

Q: 9. When using this adapter wit a Topcon lens on a Sony a7iii, do you have to use a separate light meter to set your exposure or will the camera’s built in meter work?

A: As you turn the aperture ring on the Topcon lens, you will see the exposure get lighter or dark. The same would apply when changing the shutter speed in the camera. The camera would need to be set to "Shoot w/o lens" and would need to be used in manual exposure mode.

Q: 10. I have a Z7 II camera. Will the flange distance work out correctly if I mount this adapter to a Canon EF-Nikon Z adapter?

A: When using this adapter on a Canon EF-mount to Nikon Z adapter, the flange distance would be the same as one gets when using this adapter directly on a Canon camera. So it will perform equally well on your Nikon Z7 II Mirrorless Camera as it would perform on a Canon EF-Mount camera. However, I would suggest using a different setup. The FotodioX uses an optical element to compensate for the flange distance difference of the Canon EF-Mount. With the Z7 II this optical element is not necessary and a direct adapter such as the KIPON Lens Mount Adapter for Exakta-Mount Lens to Nikon Z-Mount Camera would be a better option, BH #KIEXAKTANIKZ (https://bhpho.to/3uC9oiG). With the Kipon one is not adding an optical element into the mix, and so the lens can perform as it was originally designed to perform.

Bought to use with an old Meyer-Optik Grlitz 50mm f/2.9 trioplan and my micro four thirds camera. Was slightly worried about the Exakta mount not working properly but it snapped into place immediately! MFT mount fits snugly too. I shouldn't have expected anything less from Fotodiox, they make great stuff.

I bought an old Komura lens and wanted to try it out on my Canon 5D MkIII. I was surprised to find an adapter for such an unusual mount and I am pleased with how well it fits.

For some reason, Exakta adapters for m4/3 seem tough to make. I've tried several in the under $30 range, and had to send them all back. Not true for Leica or OM adapters. This one is nicely made, tight (but not too tight) at both ends, and allows me to use the sensational Topcon lemses on my E-M1.

This adapter provides a very reliable support for Exakta glass. Important as some Exakta lenses are fairly heavy.

Finally I can use my amazing Topcon lenses with the FS700! This adapter does nothing special, but there's no play in the connections and the image quality is fantastic. Of course it doesn't allow for adjusting focus or the iris with the camera, but neither do Topcon cameras- they're purely manual and it's erxactly what you will have to do with these lenses using this adapter.

I'm not wise in the nuances of cameras, so I can't offer any insight with respect to focal points and whatnot, but I can attest to the fact that, thanks to this little adapter, I'm getting great images with my Canon EOS matched with my old telephoto lens.

Giving a new lease on life to some very old equipment. It is great to use the old lenses again.
