Q: 10. Will this work with a Sony FX9 camera and a manfrotto camera plate attached to the tripod?

perfect for my large condensor mic. My mic has a long body and weighs the boom arm of the stand down causing the tightener to weaken. This weight does the trick and fastens snug to the other end of the stand. I had a 6lb but that was way to heavy. It's a solid piece of metal. It isn't going anywhere, ever!

I would mount heavy microphones or video cameras on boom mounts, but they would tip over! This counterweight did the job and put an end to that dilemma quickly! I now have two of them and would highly recommend to anyone in need of this. Just one note of caution: wear shoes (if you were to drop this on your foot, you'd definitely feel it)!

Slides easily up and down a boom arm, stays fixed. Much easier and better looking than DIY ankle weights/plate weights for heavier microphones.

I us this as a counterweight for lighting on a boom and it reside on studio light stands for extra weight in the studio when not on a boom. Does what its supposed to and has a wide gap to fit fairly large tubular sections.

Perfect size and weight for the Impact boom stands. No more hassles no matter how big the reflector used.

I have a few recording mics on booms that are always off balance and ready to fall over. I love these mics and I keep them in very good condition. Installing the counterweight on the other side of the boom with a simple twist of the provided screw makes a budget micstand so much more useable and dependable. The 3 pound weight is perfect for most large diaphram condensers. Money very well spent! B&H prices and shipping are so competitive. Very happy.
