Q: 1. What kind of capsul comes with this mic? Its not shown in the In the Box tab in BH.

A: This version of the Audix SCX1 ships with a Hyper Cardioid capsule. A cardioid and omni directional capsule is also available, making this mix a great modular solution.

Q: 2. Are these capsules interchangeable with Audix's micro series of microphones?

A: Hi Tyrone, The capsules on the Audix SCX1 mics are a different diameter to the Audix Micro series so are not interchangeable. The Audix Micro series does have field replaceable capsules in cardioid, hyper-cardioid and omni versions.

Q: 8. will the AT803b lavalier mics take NiMH Rechargeable batteries?

Q: 9. The signal is low on the AT803. I have to compress the sound causing the noise floor to rise. Is this a common issue and is there a fix?

Q: 10. To synch sound to footage shot on a Canon DSLR would this mic work via a zoom recorder?

A: The Audix SCX1/HC Studio Condenser Microphone Kit is a good option for recording audio separately into a Zoom recorder. Sync will likely have to be done manually in editing as most DSLR cameras and some Zoom models do not offer timecode onboard. It is possible to record timecode as an audio track on each device, which can be decoded by certain editing softwares for sync, if you use a device such as the Tentacle Sync E mkII Timecode Generator with Bluetooth 5.0 to feed both the camera and recorder the same timecode: https://bhpho.to/3Lj6m8W

I wanted a hypercardiod mic to my kit for dialogue in interiors mostly. I read this was a poor mans Schoeps. So far I'm impressed, especially for the price.

I am using this for an interior audio set-up on a boompole. The quality of the mic is great with a warm tone. I recommend purchasing with the kit to save money. The wood case is nice but I would've preferred a more durable Pelican style case which I ended up purchasing separately and leaving the wood case in storage.

I've used this mic for about 5 years now and it's been amazing. I bought it as a cheaper alternative to the Schoeps CMC641 which I used in school. It is my go-to mic for interviews and indoor dialogue. I've never had any problems with it.
