Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I double up two step-up, 43-58mm and 58-67mm, adaptors to put 67mm filter on a 43mm filter thread lens?

A: Yes. I do that with my larger filters so I don't have to buy every size to fit all my all my lenses. I do try to make sure I don't block any sensors that are on the front of the camera.

Q: 2. I'm a novice to this but what is the difference between knurling and no knurling?

A: No knurling is smooth around the edges, and knurling gives you little ridges for better grip.

Q: 3. Hi, will this fit Hasselblad CF lenses 80 & 120mm?

A: Works great on my 120mm.

Q: 4. Would these be compatible with a Haida-brand ND filter? Thanks!

A: The Sensei 82mm Step-Up Ring Kit has the same pitch thread size as Haida filters; therefore, you can connect Haida ND filters to any of the Sensei step-up rings.

Q: 5. Can I stack two filters?

A: Yes, you can stack 2 filters with the same size thread but beware of vignetting (darkening of the edges) with wider angle lenses.

Q: 6. Can this be used in a 114 Matte Box? Hypothetically want to take a Sigma Art Lens and used a Bright Tangerine Mistfit Atom.

A: The Sensei 72-95mm Aluminum Step-Up Ring allows you to connect a lens with a 72mm front thread to a 95mm thread adapter ring. Unfortunately, you cannot replace the adapter ring for the matte boxes with a step-up ring because they are designed as a proprietary system.

Q: 7. Is this compatible with a Canon EF50mm f/1.8 STM lens? I have 58mm filters.

A: No. Zeiss/Hasselblad only.

Q: 8. Will this fit a Leica r 70mm thread or is this only for Hasselblad?

A: This is a Bay 70 size. This is a Bayonet type mount. It would not work on a threaded mount.

Q: 9. If I have a 30mm camera lens, and a 37mm fisheye, do I need a step up or step down ring?

A: This step-up ring is the one you need.

Q: 10. What is the outside overall diameter of this ring in millimeters? I am trying to adapt this ring to fit a NiSi M75 filter holder, so it needs to fit inside the 85 mm diameter recess of the holder.

A: The outer diameter of the Sensei 77-82mm Step-Up Ring is 84mm. However, I unfortunately cannot confirm if it would be directly compatible for use with the NiSi M75 75mm Filter Holder.

Does exactly what it is designed to do. Has a solid and tight lock on the lens. Feels great and is a perfect solution for anyone looking to add filters to their Hasselblad lenses.

This adapter is perfect for the lover of older Hasselblad V system lenses with the Bay 50 filter mount, and lets you use common 52mm filters, instead of expen$ive, and now hard to find, Hasselblad filters.

One word of warning: the adapter and filter may cause vignetting with the 55mm Distagon... (Dunno, I dont yet have a Distagon...)
