Audio professionals in need of a portable and rugged Dante input interface will appreciate the Allen & Heath DT20-M, a cost-effective, compact 48/96 kHz Dante interface enabling two combo XLR-1/4" mic/line inputs with 48V phantom power, ideal for a variety of fixed installation and AV / hire / portable applications. The unit is designed to be used with any Dante-equipped Allen & Heath mixer or AHM system as well as with third-party Dante systems. The DT-20-M can be powered with a 12 VDC power supply (not included) or via PoE.

The DT20-M is housed in a compact, rugged aluminum enclosure and can be easily mounted under a table, podium, etc. for local mic connections. Should you wish to rackmount the DT20-M, separately sold rack ears and a rackmount kit are available.

Q: 2. does it have pad ? to Attenuate the signal

A: No, there is no dedicated pad switch on this mixer. However, Allen & Heath's GSPre preamp stage has a wide dynamic range of 5 to 60 dB and this provides exceptionally low noise and enough headroom to accommodate a wide range of signals. The mixer also features guitar DI high-impedance jack inputs allowing guitars to be plugged straight to the mixer without the need for separate DI boxes. A low-cut filter is also provided to clean-up unwanted low-frequency noise.

Q: 3. Does this box provide clock as a leader?

A: No, the Allen & Heath DT20 Dante Input Interface with Power Supply does not provide any clock leader functionality.

Q: 4. Is the USB I/O full duplex? For example, can you play back a set of tracks from ProTools and overdub 2 more tracks onto the session using this mixer as the USB interface? I could not get Pro Tools to recognize my old ZED10FX USB inputs and outputs at the same time.

A: The Allen & Heath DT168 16x8 Dante/AES67 Audio I/O Expander (BH # ALAHDT168) may have future updates that have not yet been announced. Please navigate to Allen-Heath.com to view all available DT Preamp control updates.

A: The Zedi 8 does not have any pad switches for the input level, but the model up, the Zedi 10 (B&H # ALZEDI10), does have Line/Pad switches on channels 3 and 4 which attenuate the input level by 20 dB.

Q: 7. Can you output to speakers as well as laptop?

A: Yes, you can send the output from the ZEDi-8 to speakers using the left and right XLR main outputs and the USB output will connect to your computer.

Q: 9. Would I be able to record 64 channels of multitrack audio at 96kHz with this card in the SQ?

A: The SQ mixers can only process up to 48 channels, so that would present a limitation. The Dante Virtual Soundcard is also not capable of 64x64 operation at 96 kHz, so the Allen & Heath SQ Dante Module for SQ Mixers and AHM-64 Audio Processor would not be able to be used in that particular way.
