The IR-STV IR Remote with Playback Control for Select Sony Cameras from Vello is a pocket-size infrared remote control that lets you take photos wirelessly with your camera from up to 15' away. When your camera is in remote triggering mode, the IR-STV trips the shutter by simply pressing the "S" button while aiming it at your camera. There's also a 2 second delayed shutter function that allows time for vibration to cease when your camera is tripod-mounted.

The IR-STV not only has a Stop/Start video button for your camera, but allows full display control when your camera is jacked into a TV. You can enlarge or shrink a selected image as well as rotate it or delete it completely. Start a slide show of selected images and use your PictBridge-compliant printer to print an image remotely. We had a radio host that had 3 Minnray PTZ cameras that he wanted to use for broadcast to StreamYard. The only problem was that they couldn't locate the person who had initially set them up and could not get into the cameras to set them up. This remote didn't look exactly like the remote in the Minnray manual, but was similar enough that I ordered it on the chance that it would control and allow me to get into them and initialize the settings on the camera to set them up again. Worked perfectly and so glad I took that chance. 5

Works very well. Can also be used for bulb exposures. Press button to open shutter. You time your exposure and then press button again to close it. Much cheaper way to do long exposures. It can’t do time lapse automatically if your camera does not have that function. 5

This works great with our Clear Touch RL500 PTZ Camera that was recently installed in our church. I am able to adjust the zoom and side to side settings easily. The range isn’t the greatest, but I think it has more to do with the receiver than this controller. The installer put a piece of electrical tape right over the top of the sensor to attach it to the camera. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a lot of information as to how to use the control, so trial and error was used. 5
