Use it to reduce distracting reverb, improve speech intelligibility, and lessen problematic reflections and flutter echo. Improving the sonic accuracy of a room will result in a more pleasing and productive experience in the space.

The panel is constructed from class A fire-rated foam wrapped in Petoskey-colored fabric. It has beveled edges and a noise reduction coefficient of 1.05. The panel can be hung from the wall using the included impaling clips or from the ceiling using a variety of clips and anchors (sold separately).

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this black or gray?

A: The HoverMat is technically Charcoal Grey, however as the pictures on our website show, it is much closer to black than a true grey. Hopefully comparing these photos will give you a better sense of it's true color.a href= https://www.auralex.com/product/hovermat/ target= _blank https://www.auralex.com/product/hovermat//a

Q: 2. Does it come with mounting materials?

A: The Primacoustic Paintables do not ship with installation hardware. Wall mounting clips are available separately and vary depending on how panels will be placed.

Q: 3. What is the diameter of the aluminum?

A: Approximately 1" they will fit into a standard Grip Head

Q: 4. How does this compare to the Chimera Chroma Green 72 x 72?

A: The Chimera Digi Green Panel Fabric is slightly brighter and is geared those adding more complex keying to their shot. The standard Chimera Chroma Green Fabric in the 72 x 72 size is fine for any keying that is less complex.

Q: 5. Is this the same material as the white & black panel? I find that black material to be pretty reflective and not like duvetyne.

A: This 48 x 48" Chimera Panel Fabric is a 16 oz, solid black commando cloth for the brand's Panel Frame System. The fabric quickly attaches to the separately available Chimera frame thanks to its durable elastic corners. The black color with matte finish is useful for controlling light by blocking or absorbing it. The material is matte toned, not reflective but also not duvetyne.

Q: 6. Is this fabric opaque or does light shine through it?

A: Yes it is opaque

Q: 7. what is the R value of 4" and can it be used in exterior application?

A: The R value is 4.20, and is not intended for outside installations. https://www.auralex.com/product/mineral-fiber-insulation/

Q: 8. How much does the frame weigh? And how does the weight compare to the Intellytech fast frame? (5' x 6.5')

A: According to Chimera, their 72 x 72" Pro Panel Fabric Frame weighs 5.6 lbs. Unfortunately, Intellytech does not publish a weight for their Fast Frame 5' x 6.5' option.

Q: 9. I live in an apartment , its tiled floor .The people who live in the down floor complaining me that my drum kit noice is to loud . If I buy this Auralex Hover Mat will I be able to reduce the sound goes to the lower floor ?

A: Hi Ramesh, The Hovermat will help reduce the noise of your kick pedal, but it will not diminish anything that is not directly being transferred into the ground (such as toms, cymbals, snare). Sound is like water, it travels in every direction and gets through every gap. If you covered your entire rooms floor in a layer of something, that would diminish the noise traveling through the floor.

Q: 10. Would this also work for a talking-head interview in a large conference room with a tile floor? I'm trying to reduce reverb. Was thinking the talent could stand on this with a shotgun mic overhead.

A: It could not hurt. Sounds like a plan!
