A 1.5x squeeze ratio is a perfect balance between the size and anamorphic intensity. With a 1.5x squeeze ratio, you will have a 2.66:1 on a 16:9 sensor after de-squeeze. There is also room for you to crop into a 2.4:1 widescreen ratio.

I've been waiting for a lens like this for a while now. The 9-18 is alright, but not very wide and not very special. I took a gamble on this lens, and am really happy I did! Flare is controlled well, but off axis can get a pretty nasty red blob. Milky way shots are very easy with F/2, and infinite focus IS hard stopped!

I use this for both video and still photography. Slight barrel distortion, but nothing excessive. Be prepared to manually focus, but at 7.5mm, the DOF makes this easy. Set it at hyperfocal distance, and you are pretty much good to go. It does look like a toy on my Lumix GH5, but produces good results.

I’m not a professional photographer but have spent a considerable amount of time taking time lapse sequences of sunrises and sunsets. The Venus Optics Laowa 7.5 f/2 MFT lens is ideal for this type of filming with its 110 degree angle of view. True, it is a manual lens with limited capabilities but I am pleased with the clarity and sharpness especially around the edges with minimal aberrations and distortions which are typical with lower end wide angle lenses. I have used the lens on a BMPCC and Z Cam E1 with acceptable results on both cameras with no edge cropping. It may be a slightly
pricey for being a manual lens, but for my use it works quite well. With B&H’s excellent return policy, I would definitely say to give the lens a try and if it doesn’t suit your needs or critique, return it.

Even on Micro Four Thirds it's super wide. The shots with it look dramatic and expressive. Good build quality, image is pretty sharp. Recommended.

Wow. What a lens! Like most people, a zoom lens lives on my camera. My everyday lens is a 12-60mm MFT. I can carry this small 7.5mm lens in my pocket. (It only weighs 5 ounces.) It is great for shooting architecture and artistic shots that have a significant object in the foreground and a full landscape in the background. It was the perfect lens for shooting real estate in confined spaces (and making the space look large. Its sharp with good contrast. I use it mostly at f/5.6 which is within sweet spot. (Reviewers like the lens from f/2.8 through f/8.) As a manual focus at f/5.6 its easy to set it hyperlocal (near infinity) and forget focusing and just shoot. Light weight, well built, easy to us, great results.
