Q: 7. Anyone that has this light had any issues with the bluetooth?

A: We are not aware of bluetooth issues with the Aputure Nova P300c RGB LED Light Panel. In general bluetooth connections can be frustrating to get to work. A: No it does not.

Q: 9. Will these be quiet enough for studio use? I would be using 6 of them.

A: Yes, while it features active cooling (i.e. a fan), it's quiet enough if not as quiet as the fan of an Arri Skypanel. In the menu, you can set the fan to "Force" and thereby keep it on all of the time, or to "Auto" so that it will minimize use of the fan and its velocity.

Q: 10. Does the light come with a SOFT case (not the hard case which comes in the more expensive kit)?

A: Unfortunately, a soft case is not included with the Nova P300C.

It's very bright, heavy and full of color. Sometimes it's the perfect tool for the job. Often times a smaller, lighter, 56k panel that runs on batteries will fit the bill just fine, but when you need what the P600c has, you'll be glad it's part of your kit.

The P600c is probably the best soft panel on the market at the moment. I'd argue that this is superior even over a skypanel in most ways with newer color engines, 4 individual light pixels that can be programed to do all sorts of fun things, it's 50% brighter, more color accurate, has built in crmx and the colors are more saturated and vibrant. The discounted price at the moment is an absolute steal for something with this amount of functionality. Build quality seems very good. It's definitely on par with a gemi or skypanel in that regard. For individual owner/ops I really believe that this and the vortex 8 are the only 2x1 panels worth looking at because of the feature sets and prices. If you're mainly doing rentals then skypanels and vortex 8s are probably a better option if only for the name recognition.

Just metered my P600c and P300c at the same distance to test out the claims of a previous negative review. The P600c is a full stop brighter and that is in constant output not max output mode. The other major advantages the P600c has over the P300c are a 4 pixel engine, a much stronger yoke to support large softboxes, 1/10th of a percent control over brightness and tint, and built in CRMX. It is just a far better product than the P300c. The only major disadvantage is the weight at 30.2lbs, but that is only 7.5 pounds more than the P300c.
