Q: 1. why does this photo show a 10U space rack when the listing is for a 14U. i would like to see what an 14u rack looks like when shopping for a 14U rack. can the casters be taken off and can the unit then be set on a table top?

A: There is no stock photo available for the 14U. Gator also shows a 10U on their listing for the 14U on their own website. I will pass along the feedback to them.Regarding the casters, they are not removable. Our standard GR series of racks (which is similar but without wheels) is only available up to 10U ina single unit. If additional spaces are needed, they are all stackable so a GR-6L and GR-8L can be placed on top of one another for a total of 14U. Having two separate racks would also make it more portable as they could be carried individually instead of having to carry around 14U of equipment at once. If wheels are needed later, Gator also makes compatible caster board kits which could be added to the bottom of the stack for additional ease of transport.

A: I contacted Gator Cases to find out about the lid clearance height on the Gator GRC12X10PU Pop-Up Console Rack Case and they said that the case only accommodates up to 5" in height and the Allen & Heath SQ-5 Digital Mixer requires 7.8" so it will not fit in this case. The only case that Gator offers for the SQ-5 is the Gator G-Tour Series ATA Flight Case for Allen & Heath SQ-5 Mixer (B&H # GATRAHSQ5ND).
