The Tiffen 62mm Black Satin 1/2 Filter helps to reduce the overall contrast of an image and better control the highlights within a scene. In addition to rendering highlights with a grittier, more grainy appearance, this screw-in filter also helps to subtly soften facial blemishes and wrinkles for a natural, refined look.

This filter is constructed from water white glass and is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and mounting on precision metal rings.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hoya XHD3-72CRPL have a front thread to use for lens cap?

A: Yes, the filter has a front thread for a snap on cap or a screw in cap.

Q: 2. Is this filter (Nikon 95mm Circular Polarizer Filter II) multicoated?

A: I checked the Nikon manual for the filter and it is silent on multi-coating (generic filter foldout is provided). A competing website for B&H says that it is. Nikon's website is also silent. So I cannot say for sure. I am happy with the filter, the glass is exceptional using it on a new Nikon 200-500. Please note that it is exceptionally thin, spinning the CPL piece is easy while get it on and off the lens takes some care as I have big hands.

Q: 3. How much stops of light does it reduce?

A: Unfortunately, a filter factor is not provided by Nikon for this CPL.

Q: 4. Does this filter work on a Nikon 24-70mm lens?

A: The following lens adapt to the following filter sizes Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S Lens & Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR Lens both take 82mm filter size

Q: 5. Can I use auto focus with this filter?

A: Yes absolutely. However I had problems with the Nikon 95 Polarizeras the two polarizing elements of the filter separated as I unscrewed it from a Nikon 200-500 F 5.6 tele. The two elements of this thin Nikon polarizer are held together with a thin silver wire. I sent it back to Nikon and asked for a new replacement filter but Nikon declined and sent the polarizer back repaired. Fearing the same problem might reoccur, I replaced the Nikon Polarizer with a B&W 95 polarizer which seem much more substantial.

Q: 6. Is there an adapter so the 112 mm circular polarizer can be used on other lenses, such as 77 mm?

A: Unfortunately, a step down ring from 112-77mm is not currently offered.

Q: 7. Would this be a good match for my tamron 150-600?

A: Absolutely! This is the price for the money you can have, the Nikon filters are fabulous ans you cant go wrong, also using mine with my Tamron 150-600 G2 and loving it.

Q: 8. Can anyone tell me how thick this filter is? I'm trying to compare it to other slim filters.

A: Including the screw thread it is about 8mm thick.

Q: 9. I plan on using the filter on a drone, and the gimbal on the drone requires a weight range for filters to maintain balance. Does anybody know how much the filter weights (in grams, if possible)? Thanks!

A: .9 oz, according to my kitchen scale. Or 25 grams.

Q: 10. Is the .3 stop light loss number in the specifications accurate?

A: I suspect that there is some semantics involved. However, I find the in my terms the factor is 1.3. By this I mean for example: holding the shutter speed constant, I get a reading of f9 without the filter, with the filter on and adjusted for maximum effect it will require a aperture of f5.6 for an equivalent exposure. I was mislead by the point three as well, but it is still better than the 2.5 or a bit more that conventional filters of this type yield.Hope this helps.
