The attic/loft ladder will be ready for use one the door has been fully opened. You would open the attic/loft ladder by gripping the tubes with both hands and lifting it off the retainer hook and allowing it to open and descend to the floor. There are windows on each side of the rungs/step of the ladder. Once the locking indicator windows turn from red to green when the ladder descends, that will indicate that the sections of the ladder are locked and the ladder is safe to use.
