Part of a series of full-frame lenses featuring a 45mm image circle and compact for a full-frame lens with a T2.1 aperture, this lens can be used wide open without making it impossible for your focus puller to keep your subject in focus.

The cine industry-standard 0.8 MOD focus and iris gears make it easy to use this lens with follow focus units or lens motors, and an 11-bladed aperture helps provide natural-looking out-of-focus highlights with a natural-looking bokeh. Focus Scale markings are provided in both feet and meters, and a focus rotation of 330° allows for precision manual focus adjustment.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you use this on a S35 sensor? And if so how does this change the focal length?

A: Yes you could use this on a S35 sensor size. Super 35 sensors will add a 1.5x magnification to the lens. This 35mm lens would look like a 52mm view when used on crop sensor S35 cameras.

Q: 2. Can you give me some sense of the problems of using this FF lens on the C70?

A: There will be no issues or problems using the Meike 50mm T2.1 FF-Prime Cine Lens (RF-Mount) full frame lens on the Canon C70. Please note it will crop about 1.5x when used with the C70s S35 sensor. Any RF lens you work with will have this crop ( Zoom) The lens will have a 75mm view when used on the Canon C70 camera.

Q: 3. Is this a manual focus wide angle cinema lens?

A: This is a manual focus 35mm T2.1 cine lens. Technically, 35mm is wide, but it's often considered as a midway between wide (20s-mm focal lengths) and normal (50mm).

Q: 4. Can I use this lens with a canon r5 without any adapter?

A: Yes. The following system is a RF-mount based lens.

Q: 5. Do these lenses cover 4k 6k and 8k sensors? Do these lenses feature breathing in the backstage?

A: The Meike 85mm T2.1 FF-Prime Cine Lens (PL Mount) covers full frame sensors and all smaller ones. It has the resolving power to work with 8K sensors. The focus breathing is minimal.

Q: 6. Can this line of cine lenses be used with Metabones XL?

A: The mount on the Lens is and EF mount and can be mounted on standard EF mount cameras or adapters

Q: 7. is this suitable for 6k image capture?

A: Yes, the Meike 35mm T2.1 FF-Prime Cine Lens (EF Mount) is suitable for 6K image capture.

Q: 8. Is it possible to change the lens mount on my own?

A: This lens is not user-swappable. Duclos Lens offers premium cinema modifications for Meike lenses in Micro 4/3, Sony E, and Fuji X mounts.

Q: 9. Can this lens kit be used on a C200 effectively even tho it's not a full frame body?

A: Yes it can.

Q: 10. Will these lenses cover Medium Format?

A: No, the Meike FF-Prime Cine Lenses cover full frame sensors.

I recently purchased this lens from B&H and I'm very happy with my purchase. My Canon RP is fitted with the extension grip which I find helpful because of my large hands and the fact that this is a substantial lens. In my experience with this lens I have to agree with most of the reviews that this lens is an impressive performer and has excellent stabilization. It isn't cheap, but this is definitely a get what you pay for item.

I am surprised at how sharp the lense is. Not supper fast, but with image stabilisation you can shoot slower than without it, so makes up for the lost F stop. Though the barrel extends when zooming out, it does not rotate. Great for Polaroid filters. All in all a good compromise between the cheaper and more expensive lense.

Light weight, sharp... Super sharp lens. From portraits to fine art, this guy can cover it. I actually turned in 3 lenses for this one at the show, thats how GOOD it is.

I've got the EF version of this lens and had been using it adapted to my Canon R. I kept hearing about the sharpness of this lens as compared to the EF version so I took the plunge. This weekend I was able to shoot some portraits using studio flash. Suffice to say, I'm very pleased with the end result. Skin detail is almost too good. I had to soften some wrinkles and imperfections in post processing because this lens picked up everything! No real complaints though. It's typically good Canon glass and for whatever reason, the RF glass just seems to shine. I'm slowly migrating my EF lens collection over to RF glass. Can't wait for the R5 to show up.

I don't think it's as sharp as my EF 35mm f/1.4L USM but is 96% close (nothing that post cannot fix). Is a beautiful lens, well built. This lens with the EOS R body is a heavy kit so only the strong will survive. At 24mm there is some corner darkness and actually I am not certain if that is from the lens hood. Being an f/4 is the drawback but as a 'street' lens I suppose it's not a bad deal (unless one uses flash). I am happy with the lens and may actually sell my 35mm L.

I had recently purchased the new Canon EOS RP mirrorless camera body and wanted a native RF lens rather than using my EF lenses with the adapter. The RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens is lighter and slightly smaller than the EF version and and brings the rear of the lens much closer to the sensor. I'm very pleased with the image quality of this lens, especially when comparing it to my previously owned EF version. The lens is extremely quiet (AF and IS) and the image stabilization works great and is especially useful in low light situations. The 24-105mm range is ideal for an all day walk-around lens. I purchased the lens directly from Canon and as always the lens was packaged well for shipping and I received the lens in a timely manner. I highly recommend the RF 24-105mm if you own either the EOS RP, or EOS R bodies.

Got the lens shortly after buying the R camera. Nice combination. It is very sharp and not overly big but does have some weight to it. I think it is a bit sharper than the EF variety of this focal length...on the edges. Good all around lens for the R.

Well, this is my first RF lenses, my first full frame camera (RP) and my first L glass.
I’m a hobbyist who came from a Canon T6 with some cheap and simple ef and ef-s glass right into mirrorless full frame with L glass.
Obviously, I’m in awe. Everything works perfectly for me. And I mean everything. It is a huge leap forward! Sharpness is great, focus speed is great, brightness is fantastic, performance under low light (even with f/4 - as I loved my 50mm f/1.8, I thought a f/4 lens would be an issue) even better than I expected. IS is fantastic.
As I said: everything is fantastic for me.
I’m not here writing a review after 10 days of use and around 500 pictures just to praise the lens- I’ll give it: it feels quite heavy for me. But I’ve tried some other full frame dslr (canon 6d with ef 24-70 once) and it was a lot heavier.
Weight aside, this is serious business gear.
I’m here to tell you, fellow hobbyist: this lens is a major breakthrough! If you are coming from cropped sensors dslr, this lens will be something completely new to your photography game! You’ll see yourself capturing ultra sharp pictures that you though could only go on the cover of National Geographic! If in doubt, go for it! You won’t regret the superb quality of this product.
