Kodak Professional Ektachrome E100 is a daylight-balanced color transparency film characterized by its extremely fine grain structure, vibrant color rendering, and overall low contrast profile. The lower contrast values contribute to a wide dynamic range and a neutral tonal scale for greater color accuracy, and a low D-min helps to ensure brighter, whiter whites. It has a medium-speed nominal sensitivity of ISO 100/21° when developed in E-6 process and the smooth grain profile pairs with a micro-structure optimized T-GRAIN emulsion to make it especially well-suited to scanning applications.

This item is one box of 50 sheets of 5 x 7" color transparency film.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the expiration date?

A: B&H buys and sells film in bulk. In general we regularly maintain fresh film stock. All of our film is at least 6 months from expiration (typically much longer). Unfortunately we do not have access to our inventory to hand inspect the expiration date of any of our films prior to purchase.

Q: 2. How long does the film take to process one it arrives at the processing center?

A: The average turn around time is about 7-10 business days once your drop it off at the post office.

Q: 3. Hey there, and thanks for the replies to my previous questions, but I'm still a little confused. So once I've finished shooting the whole role of film does it still require a chemical bath OR does it just need to be scanned for the final full color result? thanks...

A: You need to process this film in a lab. It is processed in E-6 chemistry.

Q: 4. Does processing include slide mounts

A: Yes it is mounted on a cardboard frame.

Q: 5. Is this old film or new? What is the expiration date?

A: This is new film and is fresh dated film.

Q: 6. Anyone shoot this at ISO 400 and have it push processed? Since 400 speed Provia is no longer made, curious how it compares?

A: This film pushes nicely, there seems to be no negative effects, pardon the pun...

Q: 7. Will this work with Bell and Howell microstar z? I don't think I have the XL version, it's just the regular, I believe.

A: Yes, The Bell and Howell Microstar Z does work with Super 8 film. More info about the camera model - https://bit.ly/3VHBzZd

Q: 8. Is processing and mounting included in the mailer kit, or is that a separate fee?

A: Yes, the processing and mounting is included in the mailer.

Q: 9. Does anyone know the reciprocity characteristics of this film?

A: This is the only information that was able to be found on Kodaks website. Adjustments for Long and Short Exposures No filter correction or exposure compensation is required for exposure times from 1 / 10,000 to 10 seconds. At exposure times of 120 seconds, add CC10R filtration. Note: This information applies only when the films are exposed to daylight. The data is based on average emulsions rounded to the nearest 1/3 stop and assume normal, recommended processing. Use the data only as a guide. For critical applications, make tests under your conditions.

Q: 10. Hi, is this the new stuff?

A: Yes, this will be for new stock.

I use this film for my own personal work and am very disappointed that Kodak has discontinued this film. I'm happy to be able to shoot some of it before it's entirely gone though and thank B&H for not raising the prices due to it being more and more hard to find because of it being discontinued. Thank you!

I prefer this transparency film on the other brands like fuji, because it's more flexible but still has it's charctaristics it's very good film for high contrast scenes, but it isn't good for soft mood or with scenes with unbalanced light when you need a high dynamic range

I've shot a few boxes of this stuff now and find that it is a wildly different color palette compared to the Fuji slides that we are all used to. It's much more neutral and doesn't have that magenta cast that Velvia has, leaning more towards green than anything. It works wonders in lush green forests and seems to have an extra stop of dynamic range in the highlights over most slides. I wouldn't say that it replaces the Fuji slides, but rather adds another option for us.

I use this film for astronomical photograpy. Tested against all others. This film continues to respond to faint light past one hour of exposure. For daylight the look is very neutral with less contrast than other chrome films. Great for scanning. Kodak put their heart into this film.

I am getting back into view camera photography for landscapes and nature. This will be used in both a view and field camera this summer and with my new scanner will make some great photos. Very pricy but worth it!

On the brink of Ektachrome's disappearance I was able to fill my freezer with as much of this film in 35 mm, 120, and 4 x 5 sizes as it would hold. Over the years B&H has been the most reliable and prompt supplier of this film (especially in the sheet film size), which I regard as the finest there is. This service has been, and the unparalleled excellence of Ektachrome transparencies will remain, the essential core of my photographic practice.

Great tonality; scans well! I formerly used Provia 100 for shooting artwork; this is a very good replacement.
