- Height adjusts from 10 to 14.25"
- Adjustable plate angle for optimal monitoring
- Rugged steel construction
- Nonslip EVA padding
- Whether you prefer to place your speakers in the vertical or horizontal orientation, you can adjust the mounting plates' angle to create a perfect equilateral triangle configuration, and find that sweet spot for optimal audio monitoring, so you can record, mix, and master with confidence.
- The nonslip rubber feet don't move or slide even on highly polished surfaces or glass. Each foot’s height is adjustable to create a solid contact with the desktop, ensuring a stable base for your monitors.
- EVA strips adhere to the mounting plates to prevent your monitors from slipping. The strips also decouple your monitors from the plates to avoid any unwanted noise from vibrations.
- The all-steel construction gives these stands the strength and durability to support 45 lb monitors without slipping or shifting. The weighted base and adjustable feet are stable on any desktop or workstation, even if it’s not a perfectly flat surface.
- With ergonomic knobs to control height and tilt adjustment, and locking pins for safety, these robust stands hold steady at whatever height you set them.
Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. What is the minimum clamp depth required? My desk only has 1.5" of depth and I can't tell if that's enough. Thanks!
A: The Auray SMS-10CL Adjustable Clamp-On Desktop Studio Monitor Stand does not specify a minimum width/depth that its clamps can be mounted to, but based on the images provided that show the length of the tightening screws, this stand should be capable of mounting to thin surfaces as small as roughly half an inch. The SMS-10CL should have no issue mounting to a desk of 1.5" thickness.
Q: 2. I have the Yamaha HS5s with mopads. Will these stands hold them both size wise? Thanks
A: Easily. Ive got a pair of HS8s on mine and they fit perfectly.
Q: 3. What are the dimensions of the top plate?
A: The dimensions of the Auray Adjustable Clamp-On Desktop Studio Monitor Stand's plate are 9.75 × 11.75" / 24.8 × 29.8 cm.
Q: 4. Is B&H selling the newer version of this item which is MS-80B?
A: We do carry the 3M MS80B Adjustable Monitor Stand, B&H # 3MMS80B as well.
Q: 5. will the legs fit under a couch. how thick are the legs?
A: The steel tubing for the legs is approximately 1.5" thick and around 2" at the ends with the rubber feet included. Whether or not it would fit under a couch depends on the amount of space between your floor and the bottom of the couch.
Q: 6. Can the inner tubing spin 360 degrees when you unlock it and raise it up so you can get the angle that you want without moving the base? Like a C-Stand?
A: The monitor mounting plates are able to rotate so you can aim the speakers at the desired angle while the telescoping shaft is locked at the preferred height.
Q: 7. What is the rear overhang of the plate? That is, can a desk be flush against a wall, or must there be some space behind it?
A: When using the Auray Adjustable Clamp-On Desktop Studio Monitor Stands, you will need to leave a few inches between the desk and the wall to accommodate the mounting plates. The plates can be positioned in either direction and the dimensions of the plates are 9.75 × 11.75" (24.8 × 29.8 cm). The clamp opens to 2" (5 cm) wide. I would estimate that you will need to leave approximately 4 to 6" of space between the back of the desk and the wall when the monitor stands are attached.
Q: 8. Are these big and sturdy enough for a pair of JBL LSR308 or similar sized speakers?
A: The Auray LMS-355 are capable of supporting the size and weight of the JBL LSR 308.
Q: 9. What are the dimensions of the base? Specifically, what is its height.
A: Using the carpet spikes, the top of the base sits 2 inches off the top of the carpet. If you're using the plastic feet on a wood or concrete floor, it might sit a 1/4 inch lower. The shape of the base is an equilateral triangle with a height of 15 inches. The length of each side of the triangle is 17.25 inches. The vertical post is 1.5 inches in diameter. The post, however, is NOT centered on the base (front to back). The space between the back of the post and the back of the base is 4 inches. The space between the front of the post and the front of the base is 9.5 inches (4 + 1.5 + 9.5 = 15). I found these dimensions important as I needed the stand to go between the back of a desk and a wall without the desk having to be too far away from the wall.
Q: 10. Does the top plate on which the monitors rest rotate, allowing for mounting on the side of a desk, or is it only forward facing?
A: No, the top plate on the Auray Adjustable Clamp-On Desktop Studio Monitor Stand is not intended to rotate.
