Q: 1. Any Sony camera user out there NOT have the timecode signal bleeding issue?

Q: 2. Will this cable work for zoom f6 timecode with track e?
A: Yes, the Tentacle Sync Tentacle to DSLR 3.5mm Mini-Jack Cable could be used to send timecode signal between the Tentacle Sync TRACK E and the Zoom F6 Multitrack Field Recorder.
Q: 3. what lav comes with the tentacle sync track e?
A: The Tentacle Sync Track E includes an omnidirectional lavalier microphone that plugs into its locking 3.5mm connector.
Q: 4. I have this cable and plugged it into my Sony A74 camera, then attached the Tentacle Sync E Mk2 unit that I used earlier as a slave to accept the master audio timecode signal from my Sound Devices Mix Pre 3 II external audio recorder. So now the Tentacle Sync E Mk2 unit is sending timecode to the camera's left channel. Also I attached a Deity V-Mic D3 Pro to send audio to the camera's right channel and then I recorded a video clip. When I play back the clip on my headphones, I hear audio from both channels, so I'm hearing the loud whir from the timecode signal on the left channel at the same time as the person's voice on the right channel. I would like to find a solution that will allow me to monitor the video/audio take, hearing audio that is synced with the video clip, when I review by playing back the clip in camera. With the Sound Devices Mix Pre 3 II recorder, that high quality .WAV file will be synced later in post. I'm thinking that I would need a pair of headphones with a disabled left channel, so only the right channel is allowed to playback while I review the camera take on set. Can anyone recommend headphones that one can switch off the left channel, or have another solution that will allow a review of the synced audio/video clip on set? Thank you.
A: As you note, the Tentacle Sync 3.5mm Mini-Jack Microphone Y-Cable (12") is sending timecode as audio to the left channel of the camera's audio track. In this case, although rudimentary, the most simple solution would be to only monitor with one side of the headphones, physically removing the side emitting timecode from your ear. There are no suggestions for headphones that allow for disabling audio of one side or the other.
Q: 5. Can I monitor the sound through the headphone jack and through the phone when using Track E here in Philippines?
A: Yes you can monitor audio through the headphone jack on your smartphone using the Tentacle Sync Track E.
Q: 6. Can it work with any timecode box?
A: The Tentacle Sync C07 Tentacle to DSLR 3.5mm Mini-Jack Cable is designed to send timecode from a Tentacle Sync timecode generator to any DSLR camera or recorder that includes a 3.5mm TRS input jack. This cable should also work with other timecode generators that use a 3.5mm TRS timecode output connection to send timecode to a camera or recorder that has a 3.5mm TRS input.
Q: 7. Can this work with Tascam 10L mic or any Pyle MEMS 10 over Ear Mic Headset
A: Yes, the Tentacle Sync Lockable 3.5mm Mini Jack for TRACK E can be used for a Tascam DR10L Microphone as well as any other microphone that requires a balanced cable.
Q: 8. This is for connecting my pocket wizard to my Profoto light. I usually use the PocketWizard MM1 Flash Sync Cable Mono Miniphone to Mono Miniphone but they are back-ordered. Will these work?
A: This Tentacle Sync Tentacle to DSLR 3.5mm Mini-Jack Cable (Right Angle 12") BH #TEC07 is a stereo TRS cable and is not electrically configured like a mono TS cable would be. Here is a 16" flash sync cord cable: Nisha Miniphone 1/8" (3.5mm) Male to Miniphone 1/8" (3.5mm) Male Sync Cord (16") B&H # NIFSC163535 MFR # FSC163535
Q: 9. Is the Tascam DR-10 lav compatible?
A: Yes, the Tentacle Sync TRACK E Pocket Audio Recorder Basic Box with Timecode Support is compatible with the TASCAM TM-10LB Lavalier Microphone for DR-10L Digital Recorder.
Q: 10. Can this provide power to a microphone such as a Deity S-Mic 2S and record 32-bit via that or other shotgun mics?
A: No, the Track E does not supply phantom power which is typically 48V. The 3.5mm input on the Track E can supply 5V of plug-in power which is sufficient for many lavalier microphones and small shotgun mics like the Deity S-Mic 2S or Rode VideoMicro. You could use a shotgun mic that is powered by batteries or a separate phantom power supply. But keep in mind that the input on the Track E is a locking 3.5mm connector so you would need to use adapters in order to connect mics that have non-locking plugs. A cable like the Sennheiser CL-1 (B&H # SECL1) has a locking and non-locking 3.5mm connectors. You can attach a female to female adapter like the Hosa Technology GMM303 3.5mm Female Stereo Mini to 3.5mm Female Stereo Mini Adapter (B&H # HOASMFSMF) to the non-locking end and that would enable compatibility for mics that have non-locking connectors.
