Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it possible to buy only the part that fits over the lens hood?

A: When it comes to the LensCoat Lens Cover for Nikon NIKKOR Z 600mm f/4 TC VR S Lens (Realtree Max4) you can not get the camo cover for just the hood and that appears to be the case with most other brands as well. A potential solution is to get a LensCoat TravelHood (Large, Realtree MAX-4), BH# LETHLM4.

Q: 2. Will it fit the Z 600 6.3 lens?

A: No, the Kirk LP-72 Replacement Lens Foot for Nikon Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S, Nikon Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S, and Nikon Z 600mm f/4 TC VR S Lenses is not compatible with the Nikon NIKKOR Z 600mm f/6.3 VR S Lens; the Really Right Stuff Foot for NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S Lens is compatible with the 600mm f/6.3 lens. BH #RELCF21

Q: 3. Canon 100-400 L IS II which cover fits?

A: This cover will work with the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM Lens.

Q: 4. Does this fit the older style 100-400 L push/pull style lens?

A: No, this one will only fit the version 2 lens, if you have. Version1, you will need the cover specifically made for that lens, hope this helps

Q: 5. Is this an all one piece cover or several pieces? Is it easy to take on and off?

A: It is made up of 6 pieces that simply slip over the lens. I don't use the piece that covers the lens when fully extended as you can't zoom out with it on. It can be cumbersome when manually focusing or using the zoom tension ring with the covers on. Since I don't often use those features it's of little concern to me.I also cut the clear plastic out of the section that covers the IS and AF switches so they are easier to access.Overall, it's a decent product. It does it's job to help protect the lens and hide the whiteness of it.

Q: 6. Will this stay on the lense when using a close fitting case like the Think Tank Digital Holster 30 V2?

A: Yes, the LensCoat Cover for the Nikon Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S (Realtree Max4) will stay on if you put the lens into the Think Tank Photo Digital Holster 30 V2.0 (Black).

Q: 7. Can a monopod be attached to the bottom of this foot?

A: Yes, the bottom of the Kirk LP-72 Replacement Lens Foot for Nikon Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S, Nikon Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S, and Nikon Z 600mm f/4 TC VR S Lenses has a 1/4 inch female thread like most cameras. It is best for a long plate like this to use an Arca-Style clamp or head on the monopod for the best secure connection.

Q: 8. Any suggestions as to best camp pattern? Arctic trip (only 1) and safaris in Africa top list. I am thinking digital as it seems to just break up the lens but new to this

A: Unfortunately, there is not one particular LensCoat pattern designed for use both in Arctic conditions and in jungle/savannah environments. Most photographers that will be shooting in multiple locations will purchase multiple lens coats. If you will only be taking each trip once and you do not want to invest in multiple lens coats, you may either use the lens as-is, or purchase the pattern for the location in which you think you will take the most images. The Digital Camo option would be good for arctic conditions and may have slightly more flexibility, but the color may stand out in sandy or wooden environments found in the jungle/savannah, for which the Realtree Max5 may be a better option.

Q: 9. Will this fit the newest 70-200 VR model?

A: Unfortunately these covers are built specifically for each lens, so this will not work on the new 70-200 model.

Q: 10. where is this made?

A: The LensCoat Lens Cover for Nikon Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR Lens is made in the US.
