The brown 4466 CORE Omnidirectional Miniature Microphone with Boom for Headset from DPA is a lightweight cardioid microphone with an adjustable boom mechanism designed for use with DPA headsets. The DPA 4466 and 4488 headset mics are modular and use the same headset design, allowing you to substitute the original boom mechanism and microphone for one featuring a different pickup pattern. This allows the user of a 4488 headset to swap out that model's directional (cardioid) headset for this 4466 omnidirectional version—saving you the expense of purchasing an entirely new headset.

The forgiving omnidirectional polar pattern in the 4466 captures audio in a 360° pickup pattern around the mic, providing consistent audio levels and offering a clean, natural, and transparent sound. The 2-way adjustable boom system—length and height—features an anti-rotate mechanism that makes it easy to position the tiny 5mm mic capsule for optimal sound quality. A sliding lock mechanism secures the boom positioning.

DPA's CORE technology is at the heart of the electret-condenser capsule, providing an ultralow noise floor and wide dynamic range. With an SPL rating of 144 dB, the microphone is more than capable of handling loud speakers, vocalists, and presenters to deliver clean, transparent, and reliable sound for critical performances and presentations.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this a replacement cable or an extension cable?

A: Extension cable

Q: 2. Does the mic mute when you turn it straight up like on other comm headsets?

A: Yes, the microphone on the Sennheiser HMD 301 PRO-X4F Single-Sided Broadcast Headset can be muted when the boom is moved to an upright position.

Q: 3. Can I use other lav mics beside Rode with this headset? I have two Shure MX185s that I'd love to pair w/this unit. Thanks.

A: Due to the difference in the size of the MX185 capsule from the Rode Lavalier mic and Smartlav+, it seems that the Rode LAVHS-LRG Headset Mount would not support the MX185 capsule.

Q: 4. Will this headset mount work the Rode Lavalier II mics that come with the Rode Wireless Pro?

A: The RODE LAVHS-MED Headset Mount for Lavalier Microphones is designed specifically for the Rode Lavalier and SmartLav+ microphones. The Rode Lavalier II is a different shape, and it may fit, but compatibility is not guaranteed and some ingenuity may be required.

Q: 5. Does it work with AT2020USB+?

A: Yes, fully compatible.

Q: 6. does it work with a razer siren x?

A: Yes, the Rode PSA1 Studio Boom Arm for Broadcast Microphones will work to mount the Razer Seiren X Gaming Microphone via the 5/8"-27 mounting adapter on both units.

Q: 7. Would this work with Rode VideoMic NTG Hybrid Analog/USB Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone, or will it want to jump to the sky?

A: Yes it will.

Q: 8. will it connect to my old landline phone?

A: No, the Sennheiser HMD 300 Pro Headset is not able to connect to a landline telephone.

Q: 9. does this work with the AT 2035

A: This studio arm would work with the Audio-Technica AT2035 cardioid condenser microphone. Simply attach the AT8458 shock mount that comes with the microphone to the 5/8-inch threaded end of the arm.

Q: 10. why does the arm want to spring to the ceiling, is my mic not heavy enough?

A: That generatlly happens if the mic is not heavy enough.
