The ColorEdge CG2700S displays at 2K WQHD (2560 x 1440) resolution. The 27" screen provides ample space for displaying Full HD content with enough space to show toolbars, palettes, and other windows or applications. This makes the monitor versatile for video editing, 3DCG creation, game development, photography, and other creative fields.

The ColorEdge CG2700S features USB-C connectivity that allows you to display video, transmit USB signals, and supply power to a connected device such as a tablet or notebook. This convenient multi-purpose connectivity makes it faster and easier to connect when moving between workstations or working remotely.

The ColorEdge CG2700S reliably charges a MacBook Pro or other high-end laptops with 92W of power delivery. This eliminates the need for a laptop's bulky power supply unit, freeing up space in your bag and on the desk.

While many modern laptops are not equipped with a dedicated LAN port, the monitor has one directly built in for stable wired connection. Connecting a laptop via USB-C provides access to the network through the monitor for sharing creative assets and files, carrying out post production work remotely, and enabling network-based color management via ColorNavigator Network.

The ColorEdge CG2700S' built-in sensor can be set to calibrate the monitor automatically at designated times. This eliminates the need for a third-party calibration device and ensures your screen stays color accurate. In addition, the sensor swings onto the screen, taking up minimal space and allowing you to continue working even during calibration.

A monitor needs to be calibrated at regular intervals to maintain color accuracy. EIZO's proprietary ColorNavigator 7 software provides an intuitive and precise solution to color management. It allows you to schedule automatic recalibration, calibrate all color modes simultaneously, and conduct correlation with external sensors to match the studio's internal color management framework. Calibration information is saved to the monitor instead of the operating system, so users do not have to recalibrate, even when using a different PC.

ColorNavigator Network provides centralized quality control (QC) of ColorEdge monitors for studios, printing houses, and other enterprises with multiple creators and editors who work on shared projects. With NetAgent or ColorNavigator 7 installed on the workstation, administrators can manage multiple ColorEdge monitors via web browser enabling quality control, even from remote locations. ColorNavigator Network is hosted on a secure cloud server to free you from the initial investment and running costs of providing your own server.

The monitor's wide color gamut faithfully reproduces 98% of the DCI-P3 standard used in digital cinema and supports the BT.2020 standard used in broadcasting. In addition, it covers 99% of the Adobe RGB color space so images shot in Adobe RGB will be displayed correctly. It also covers almost the entire ISO-coated and US web-coated CMYK color spaces used in printing.

The monitor uses a 3D LUT which adjusts colors individually on an RGB cubic table. With the supported ColorNavigator 7 software's emulation function, creators can check how content will appear to their audience. The 3D LUT also improves the monitor's additive color mixture (combination of RGB), which is a key factor in its ability to display neutral gray tones.

Using the DisplayPort or HDMI input, the ColorEdge monitor offers 10-bit simultaneous display from a 16-bit look-up-table (LUT), which means it can show more than one billion colors simultaneously. This is 64 times more colors than you get with an 8-bit display, resulting in smooth color gradations and reduced Delta-E between two adjacent colors.

Please note that a graphics board and software which support 10-bit output are also necessary for 10-bit display. Equipment that supports DeepColor is required for 10-bit display when connected via HDMI.

Preset modes for DCI-P3, BT.709, and BT.2020 ensure you can work in the appropriate color spaces and gamma values. In addition, preset modes for PQ (DCI and BT.2100) and HLG (BT.2100) are available for viewing HDR content. With the built-in calibration sensor, you can conveniently adjust or maintain the brightness setting for each preset.

The ColorEdge CG2700S features a high brightness level of 400 nits. It supports HLG (hybrid log-gamma) and the PQ (perceptual quantization) curve for displaying and editing HDR (high dynamic range) video content. The optimized gamma curves render images to appear more true to how the human eye perceives the real world compared to SDR (standard dynamic range). This ensures professional creators can reliably display HDR content for editing and color grading.

In compliance with the DCI standard, the monitor offers a high contrast ratio of 1600:1 for producing true blacks that are otherwise difficult to display on a typical LCD monitor. CG Series monitors are also equipped with a retardation film which allows tones to retain their depth, even when viewed from an angle.

The monitor includes a function that shows the areas of the image that cannot be displayed correctly at the current brightness settings. These areas are marked in yellow or magenta and can be viewed for brightness levels of 300, 500, 1000, and 4000 nits.

The monitor includes a Gamut Warning preset that, when selected, indicates areas of a BT.2020 image that cannot be reproduced using BT.709 by converting them to shades of gray. An additional mode called BT.709 Clipping allows the editor to view BT.2020 images within the BT.709 color space, simulating how it would look to their audience in an HDTV environment.

To ensure color settings stay consistent throughout production, the monitor includes a Sync Signal function which automatically adjusts the monitor's settings, such as input range and input color format, according to the video signal.

The gamma level for each ColorEdge monitor is adjusted at the factory by measuring the R, G, and B gamma values from 0 to 255, then using the monitor's 16-bit look-up-table (LUT) to select the 256 most appropriate tones and achieve the desired value. This ensures the smoothest color gradations in your images.

A typical monitor takes 30 minutes or more for its brightness, chromaticity, and tone characteristics to stabilize. The ColorEdge CG2700S takes a mere 3 minutes. Whether you are working in a studio or taking the monitor with you on location, you get reliable color display soon after turning the monitor on.

The color and brightness of an LCD monitor can shift due to changes in ambient temperature and the temperature of the monitor itself. ColorEdge CG Series monitors are equipped with a temperature sensor for accurately measuring the temperature inside the monitor, as well as estimating the temperature of the surrounding environment. With this temperature sensing and estimation technology, the monitor adjusts in real-time so gradations, color, brightness, and other characteristics continue to be displayed accurately. Furthermore, EIZO uses AI (artificial intelligence) in the estimation algorithm of the CG2700S so it can distinguish between various temperature changing patterns to calculate even more accurate correction.

LCD monitors commonly exhibit fluctuations in brightness and chromaticity across the screen, affecting color accuracy. To counter this, ColorEdge monitors are equipped with EIZO's patented digital uniformity equalizer (DUE) technology which corrects deviations in every tone across the screen to ensure stable display.

The ColorEdge CG2700S' sleek design incorporates punched metal on the back side that allows for more airflow, keeping the monitor cool without a noisy fan. A carrying handle on the back of the monitor allows you to easily move it to other locations.

The ColorEdge CG2700X comes bundled with a light shielding hood that effectively prevents glare on the screen caused by ambient lighting. The hood is newly designed to be lightweight and easily attaches to the monitor magnetically without needing to connect separate parts.

Adjust the screen to a more comfortable angle and reposition it to show your work to a colleague or client. The monitor comes with a versatile stand that offers height, tilt, and swivel adjustments. The stand is also equipped with a quick release that allows you to easily remove the screen from the stand with a single touch.

In addition to USB-C, the monitor is equipped with DisplayPort and HDMI inputs. It also includes four two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports and two USB-A 2.0 ports for connecting additional devices or peripherals.

ColorEdge monitors are backed by a limited 5-year manufacturer warranty that covers all components, including the LCD panel. EIZO manufactures its products at its own factories to allow close control over production quality and ensure each monitor is built to last.

EIZO guarantees its ColorEdge monitors will be free from bright sub-pixels for six months from the date of purchase.

The brightness and color of the ColorEdge CG2700S is warranted for up to 10,000 hours from the date of purchase. When used at a color temperature of 5000 - 6500K, a brightness level of at least 120 nits is warranted.

I loved my NEC MultiSync PA271W but it's over 10 years old and the light source simply can't perform like it used to so I needed to replace it. I looked for the best and I found the best, the EIZO ColorEdge CG2700X. It's the same size as the monitor that it replaced and right away I can tell the uniformity is better along with it's contrast. Color reproduction is dead on and it's built in calibrator makes it so simple to do calibrations. No more having to open up a box, pull out the wires and mess with connections, I set the target, click a button and everything else is automatic. Setting up the display was very easy to do and it's much lighter than the one it replaced. I menu system is easier to understand too.  Since this monitor is newer, it's also capable of handling more color spaces.  And of course another big difference is this new monitor is 4K and the detail is astonishing! Also, technical support from EIZO is excellent.

Mine was great for about 4.5 months, then it lost power. No lights, no power switch, etc. Eizo repair has it now. It is a good monitor, slightly superior to my old NEC PA271-Q monitor. The matte screen material is better than what the NEC had. The self calibration feature is a good feature to have. Hopefully the new power supply(assuming that's what went bad) doesn't fail again for at least 10 years. If you have the $$$, get this. If you are on more of a budget, I'd get the Eizo CS2731 w/calibrator. Last choice, BenQ, the poverty brand.

I have the previous version of this unit, a very fine well built display as it should be. The added value in Eizo is the company itself. These are made in Japan and US support is out of California. The website has everything from software to training vids including update solutions for known issues for past models ie they really on top serving their customers. They have distinct product lines they sell to science & medicine, which matters for photographers as we get to share that professionalism.

You call their support line and they are patient, knowledgeable and inviting. The warranty is outstanding (30,000 hours), they keep spare parts for 7 years for any model. These are serious instruments with a built in color calibrator (on the CG line) that swings down from the bezel on a settable schedule. The Color Navigator 7 software will create settings not only for all standard color spaces, but any custom setup you create. If you print seriously, you can create nameable soft-proofing setups that exactly & perfectly match your paper white and ink contrast - you could save enough in ink & paper through this feature to cover the higher investment. Setups are stored in the monitor and quickly accessible via the onboard menu & superb electrostatic switches on the front - no gimmicky hockey puck. Even the hood is impressive with magnetic attachment and deep anti-reflective cloth inside. If you are concerned you are paying more for no reason, relax and go for it, these are good investments.

PS The brand is supported on Youtube by some smart, serious content creators who have made it straightforward to learn how to use the monitor's storage of Color Navigator 7's impressive custom proofing setups.

As a film editor/colorist, color accuracy is extremely important to help you move forward with confidence when delivering a final product. I consistently calibrate my monitors weekly and dangling a probe over the monitor can get annoying. For me, having a monitor that calibrates itself, while storying the calibration to the monitor and not the operating system, streamlined my workflow by saving time. It means I can move this monitor to any computer, like my remote setup when on location, and know the color calibration will be consistent across all platforms.

I have been using Flanders Scientific monitors for years, but as a Mac user, that means I needed a PC laptop to calibrate the monitor and a video I/o device to output SDI. As a result, I really started using it less because of the inconvenience. Plus, most of the content I create is for web and social media platforms which means 99% of the content is being viewed on a computer or smartphone. I wanted to be working on content in an atmosphere that the end user would be viewing in.

There are other monitors at this price point that can seem more enticing. The ASUS PA32DC was similar in price and the spec sheet seemed to be better by comparison. But doing research between Eizo and ASUS shows the biggest difference was reliability and customer service. Eizo has received glowing reviews in the categories that matter most at the end of the day. While ASUS offers an OLED display, I am already using a LG C series OLED tv which is twice the size, half the price, and amazing color accuracy once calibrated.

I have included photos that showcase the size comparison to the Flanders, the calibration probe activating, the color profile options and how well thought out the packaging is by including carrying handles for delivery. I will circle back to this review after a couple years of using the monitor to update everyone on the long term performance.

Purchased this monitor for color grading in DaVinci Resolve. It's so well-rounded. From the image quality and color reproduction, to the build quality and features, it just delivers. The ease of changing color spaces to match your timeline is effortless. Anyone scared of the price tag hasn't used it yet. I've only been using for a month now, but out of the gate it's a phenomenal monitor for grading.

I use the EIZO CG2700X for printing high resolution 13x19 inch deep sky, solar and planetary photos with a Canon Pro9000 MarkII printer. After using several different monitors in the last 20 years I have found the EIZO to be the easiest to setup, having the best written and video documentation for color management and most importantly the most accurate soft proofing from monitor screen to finished print. The built in color calibration tool is fast, easy to use and performs flawlessly. I am extremely pleased with the purchase.
Before purchasing the EIZO from B&H I had initially purchased the ASUS 31 inch OLED monitor from B&H a couple of weeks before. Long story short the ASUS monitor had a known hardware defect, according to a phone call placed to ASUS technical support. It was returned to B&H photo two weeks after purchase.
In reviewing the EIZO monitor I find that a comparison with the recently purchased ASUS monitor to be the most relevant. The LED OLED display on the ASUS monitor was definitely more eye popping than the EIZO LED monitor, which would be expected . That being said, everything else about the EIZO monitor- Color calibration, ease of setup, detailed documentation, and most importantly everything works right out of the box without any known hardware issues simply leaves the ASUS monitor in its dust in my opinion. The EIZO monitor is definitely designed for professional use in a photographic printing environment, while the ASUS monitor, once the hardware issues are fixed, is designed for looking at stunning images on the screen that can’t be duplicated on photographic paper. In fact the screen display of the ASUS monitor convinced me that my next television is definitely going to be OLED.
And last but not least, thank you B&H photo for the fabulous customer service that I’ve received over the years on every single purchase.
