Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with Datavideo PC150 PTZ Camera?

A: The Datavideo recommends using the Datavideo RMC-180 Mark II PTZ Camera Controller or the Datavideo Universal Remote Control Panel for Datavideo PTZ & Block Cameras for use with a Datavideo PTC-150 HDMI/SDI PTZ Video Camera. No other models are recoomended for use with these cameras.

Q: 2. Will this work with the Canon CR-N300?

A: They both specify compatibility with VISCA control protocol, so they may be configured to work together. However, we recommend sticking with Canon controllers for Canon PTZ cameras for a seamless experience.

Q: 3. How do I connect multiple cameras to this single port unit?

A: That would depend on the cameras being used and how you need to wire them. Some options will require you to customize cables for use with the Green Phoenix connectors on the back or you may need to daisy chain RS-232 cables.

Q: 4. Are you able to control or adjust the Pan speed? It is fast and looks mechanical when controlled by the remote.

A: Yes, the pan speed can be adjusted by twisting the "PTZ Speed" knob on the keyboard of the AViPAS AV-3104IP 4D Joystick PTZ Controller.

Q: 5. Will this work with a Tevo-vhd20n ptz camera?

A: Yes, The AViPAS 4D Serial Joystick Controller (No IP Function) should control your camera using the Visca protocol. You would need a Visca cable like the following model. TecNec Visca Camera Control Cable 9-P D-Sub F to 8-P DIN M 50 Ft BH #TEV9F50 https://bhpho.to/3hTeILq

Q: 6. Will this control more than one camera at a time?

A: This can control multiple cameras but they will have to be controlled individually

Q: 7. I have avipas av-1081. if I use this av-3104se is it a simple RS232 cable to camera or is more to it. ifso doyou have the cable?

A: The AViPAS 4D Serial Joystick Controller (No IP Function) does support RS-232 via it's D-Sub 9-Pin output. You could connect the controller directly to the camera using a cable like the TecNec Visca Camera Control Cable 9-P D-Sub F to 8-P DIN M 50 Ft (BH #TEV9F50). See: https://bit.ly/42jOYJZ

Q: 8. How do I set this up to control 2 AviPas 1081 PTZ cameras? Where do I find the appropriate cables?

A: AV-1081 only has one RS-232 interface. Using AV-3104 to control two AV-1081, you will need to add a "Y splitter" or a "RS232 port expander". Usually if a you want to use AV-3104 to control multiple cameras, we will suggest AV-1281 and the end camera can be an AV-1081. That would allow them to daisy chain the cameras. But then a special VISCA cable will be required between cameras.

Q: 9. Will this control the cameras using Ethernet?

A: Yes, it uses IP for control.

Q: 10. Will it work with BirdDog cameras?

A: Unfortunately we can not confirm it would be totally compatible with all the functions of the camera. We recommend the Birddog controller as the best option BH #BIBDPTZKEY.
