The TB4 can support displays up to 8K resolution when only a single display is connected. Otherwise, the TB4 can support dual 4K 60 Hz displays on select devices such as Intel-based Macs, Windows operating systems, and Chrome OS. Original M1 based Macs do not support dual displays.

Charge your device while it is connected to the hub with 98W Power Delivery, ensuring you are never low on notebook power when you need to pack up and go. Each downstream Thunderbolt 4 and USB 4.0 Type-C port offers 15W, front USB Type-C ports provide 20W, and the rest of the USB Type-C and Type-A ports offer 7.5W, allowing you to charge your phones, tablets, and other mobile devices when in use.

If you do not have access to your Wi-Fi connection or simply prefer a wired connection, a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port is available so you can quickly download documents, watch your favorite media, or even take part in conference calls with ease.

Thunderbolt 4 is compatible with a range of operating systems running macOS 11.4 (Big Sur) or above as well as Windows 10 (20H2) or later. While Thunderbolt 4 is the optimal choice for greater system efficiency, Thunderbolt 4 is also compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and USB 4.0 Type-C devices including select Chromebooks, iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad Mini, and Windows Tablets with reduced performance.

This is the second CalDigit product I've purchased. Like other reviewers, I purchased something cheaper and smaller to save money, but due to several factors, I decided to spend more and get something that better serves my needs. I eliminated several other similar products and this one is handling the job very well. Easy to connect and get running. So far it's working great and the ability to use the SD card reader is a nice bonus.

had a bellkin usb c adapter with hdmi out and a few ports from my usb-c only macbook days. the hdmi was really slow to connect so i was looking for a display port solution. this unit was the most expensive one i looked at and im super glad i paid more. the tb4 is insanely fast and i never get the “your accessory is drawing too much power’ message any more. the display port is also crazy fast to connect from stand by, the front and rear facing ports are nice for accessibility while keeping a pretty tidy desk, and the power brick is actually smaller than the one for my usb c. if you can afford it, this is the one to get in 2023.

For almost my entire life I've always had some kind of dock or hub for my personal Macs. I need ports, Macs have never had enough. I've always opted for budget-friendly hubs, or models that were readily available at retailers like Best Buy or Target. I've never owned one that I would consider great. The IT department at my job provided this dock to use with my work computer, also a Mac. I was never wanting for a port. I can plug in a wired keyboard, wired mouse, two additional monitors, external HDDs and SSDs, as well as SD and MicroSD cards to pull footage. I looked it up on B&H and was shocked at the price, easily 3 times what I've ever paid for a personal hub. I've never had a single issue with it since I received it over a year ago. I ended up biting the bullet and buying one for my personal Mac and have not regretted it. Highly recommended.

I was having issues with hard drives disconnecting in a random fashion and this solved that issue. I do have a lot of hard drives... Four separate ones for Lightroom and three backups of each drive plus a RAID.., and a few more for other back ups.

Near perfect set of included ports, great industrial design. Using mine with a 16 M1 Max MBP. If purchased earlier in device's lifecycle, visit CalDigit's website to ensure your dock is running most up-to-date firmware.

Always a pleasure doing business with B&H. The hub is great and makes it so much easier to unplug my laptop and go. No issues at all with the product or the service.

Wish it came in black or midnight to match either the new MacBook Pro or the new MacBook Air but now on to the review. It has all the ports I could think of needing even works with the apple superdrive, I know most people don't use CD's anymore but nice to know that It works. 2.5gb ethernet is a big plus and you can even hook up an external dac if you want, all while keeping the MacBook fully charged. Even works with iMac and iPad Pro or Air so that is a big plus. Negatives would be no HDMI port for those that care but other than that works great.

Sometimes, you do get what you pay for... and this is true with the CalDigit TS4. It's the most expensive, most premium Thunderbolt dock on the market. It's made entirely of metal, except for the rubber stands. It's completely silent (no coil whine, like certain other docks have) and has 18 ports (more than any other dock). All of the USB ports are Super Speed (10Gbps). The Ethernet port is 2.5 Gigabit. Both card readers are UHS II. Literally everything is the best it can possibly be. That's why it's $400.

One thing to note if you plan on gaming, the DisplayPort 1.4 will support UHD 4K @ up to 144hz. The DisplayPort on many gaming monitors will support a refresh rate above this, so be aware. Aside from that, any resolution below UHD 4K will be supported @ up to 240hz. The same goes for the Thunderbolt 4 ports.
