The tubes fit well, offer the comfort of a metal ring both sides for a firmer seal and the electrical contacts seem to bind well without pinching on the main camera body (unlike some of the Sony lenses!) In use they are quick and easy to attach, do exactly what all the other extension tubes do but in a more premium way. I had a cheaper set of plastic Meiko extension tubes which worked OK on the Sony a6000 but cropped on the A7, these offer full frame compatibility and with a 24-240mm lens still feel very supportive of the main lens without any risk of failure. 5

Fit and finish of the Vello Deluxe Auto Focus Extension Tube Set is top notch. They go on my camera easily, but provide a nice tight fit, with no wiggle or play, and all lens functions work normally. I've had them on and off the camera quite a few times now, and these seem like they will be able to handle that kind of use. Yes, a bit more expensive than some, but for repeated use, well worth the price. My one minor gripe is that they don't come with some kind of small case, however, I happened to have an extra small round case I had bought for a Bluetooth earphone, and found that both pieces locked together fit in the case perfectly. If you're interested in trying some macro work, but maybe don't plan on doing enough to justify a dedicated macro lens, then these are highly recommended. 5

These tubes are exactly what I wanted. They do not achieve 1:1 because of their length(s), only about 1:1.6, but that is fine for me. You will hear a lot of online chatter about 1:1, and they all parrot the same thing without understanding it. 1:1 is great, but unless you have a macro lens or extension tubes already you are WAY off of that, probably in the 1:8 range. So, making ALL of my lenses ~4x higher magnification with one product is super nice. These tubes are well made and so far have not had any issue holding up my lenses, 1.7lb (0.77kg) is my heaviest. Other reviews asking for a front or back dust cover seem unfounded to me since there is no glass inside these tubes. 5

This set (2 tubes in the kit) are well made and transmit the lens and camera data through the tubes so that all the same features still work that would work, if the tubes weren't there, They attach easily and firmly to both the lens and the camera (a7RII In my case). You will no longer be able to focus to infinity when they are attached, but that;s not the point. Either or both together can be used for various amounts of magnification. Try them with different lenses for different depth of field and focusing distances. Sometime the auto focus searches back and forth when installed, so I suggest manual focusing often works better, 5
