Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this product hold CFast cards?

A: Yes. They are the same physical size as CF cards, and this is a great card wallet that folds up nicely even when full of cards.

Q: 2. Is the end of the lens threaded for a protective screw on UV filter?

A: The Canon EF 400mm f/2.8L IS III USM Lens does not have front filter thread. It has a drop in filter slot in the rear. In general almost all 400mm f2.8 lenses in all brands only allow rear filters.

Q: 3. Will this fit the Nikon 24-200mm Z f/4-6.3 zoom lens?

A: Yes, LensCoat LensPouch (Small Wide, Black) fits your Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-200mm f/4-6.3 VR.

Q: 4. Does this fit the older style 100-400 L push/pull style lens?

A: No, this one will only fit the version 2 lens, if you have. Version1, you will need the cover specifically made for that lens, hope this helps

Q: 5. It looks like some of the beanbag camera supports come already filled and some don't. Does this one come filled? It doesn't state specifically, so I want to make sure. Thanks!

A: I fill mine with sunflower seed. Empty it later or anywhere for the birds. No littering.

Q: 6. Any suggestions as to best camp pattern? Arctic trip (only 1) and safaris in Africa top list. I am thinking digital as it seems to just break up the lens but new to this

A: Unfortunately, there is not one particular LensCoat pattern designed for use both in Arctic conditions and in jungle/savannah environments. Most photographers that will be shooting in multiple locations will purchase multiple lens coats. If you will only be taking each trip once and you do not want to invest in multiple lens coats, you may either use the lens as-is, or purchase the pattern for the location in which you think you will take the most images. The Digital Camo option would be good for arctic conditions and may have slightly more flexibility, but the color may stand out in sandy or wooden environments found in the jungle/savannah, for which the Realtree Max5 may be a better option.

Q: 7. What is the difference between Realtree Max5 and Realtree Max4?

A: I cannot find one shred of information delineating the two models of covers. If Lens Coat cannot say what the difference is, then I say buy the cheaper one since it is the same.

Q: 8. can we purchase the lens barrel cover separately, i lost mine?

A: Sorry. The lens barrel cover is not sold separately in the LensCoat Lens Cover for Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 IS II (Realtree Max4 Camo).

Q: 9. is the III really *THAT* much better than the II? I've used the II and it's the sexiest lens I've ever had my hands on. is the III really worth the upgrade?

A: If you prefer to have a lighter option with similar performance to your current 400mm II lens, then getting this model is worth the upgrade.

Q: 10. Sorry I have another question. I am really considering buying this wrap. But it is costly! Do you really feel it gets you closer to birds if you are also wearing camo clothes and hat? What if you are not wearing camo clothes, then does it even matter? Thank you.

A: I would say that it can, provided you are stealthy in other ways as well (no sudden movements, camo clothes). Breaking up the head profile is important, because birds get most nervous when they perceive they are being looked at. But it won't fool birds all the time, and there are limits. The wrap also protects your lens from scratches, so you could look at it as an investment, if you ever want to sell your lens one day.
