The 62mm Glimmerglass Grade 1/8 Filter from Tiffen is a beauty filter whose function is two-fold: in addition to modifying the appearance of the image itself, it also features a sparkling appearance when viewed from the front, instilling more confidence in the model. The filter itself helps soften skin details, blemishes, and wrinkles. It also produces glowing highlights and a mild reduction in contrast for a more ethereal appearance. The grade 1/8 diffusion provides a minimal amount of softening and overall image alteration.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting it onto precision metal rings.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the CPL included in this kit have any kind of coating to minimize reflections?

A: All filters are coated but this one does not have Multi-coating. I is the multi-coating that makes a big difference.

Q: 2. Can this be used on a Fujifilm lens so long as it has a 52mm diameter?

A: Yes, any lens with 52mm filter threads will work with this filter.

Q: 3. Would this be a good match for my tamron 150-600?

A: Absolutely! This is the price for the money you can have, the Nikon filters are fabulous ans you cant go wrong, also using mine with my Tamron 150-600 G2 and loving it.

Q: 4. Hoya XHD3-72CRPL have a front thread to use for lens cap?

A: Yes, the filter has a front thread for a snap on cap or a screw in cap.

Q: 5. When I use the filter and the lens hood can I still rotate the filter? Thats would be a good reason to buy Nikon over B&H

A: Depends on what lens hood you have, the deeper the lens hood the harder it is to get your finger in to turn. I usually set the filter to what polarization I prefer then attach the lens hood making sure I do not alter the filter.

Q: 6. Is there an adapter so the 112 mm circular polarizer can be used on other lenses, such as 77 mm?

A: Unfortunately, a step down ring from 112-77mm is not currently offered.

Q: 7. Can you get just one large set like 77mm and expect to be able to use them with step up rings, like you can with ND filters?

A: Yes you can. I just tested it using 3 step up rings. You have to focus manually.

Q: 8. I don't stack filters often but will be need to with a protective UV because of need to add & remove quickly without removing a protective filter in a harsh environment- any experience with vignettes & this filter with this at focal lengths 20-24 mm?

A: Camera: Nikon d750Lens: Nikon 20mm f/1.8, Nikon 24-120mm f/4.0Stacked filters: Nikon NC 77mm + Nikon 77mm Cicular PolarizerResult: Noticeable vignetting. DXO PhotoLab compensate automatically at NEF level (based on individual lens profile) about 90% of vignetting.

Q: 9. Nikon circular polarizer 77mm

A: Not sure what the question is but the Nikon CPOL II is top of the line. Compared to the B-W, the Nikon has a higher polarizing effect, smoother rotation, and is thinner. Easy one finger set inside a sun hood. Once set, it stays put. Pricey but worth it. Get step-up rings to cover other lens filter sizes

Q: 10. I plan on using the filter on a drone, and the gimbal on the drone requires a weight range for filters to maintain balance. Does anybody know how much the filter weights (in grams, if possible)? Thanks!

A: .9 oz, according to my kitchen scale. Or 25 grams.
