Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the difference between the Skyeye and Wolverine? Is there an optical difference?

A: The main difference between the Kase 77mm Skyeye Professional ND Magnetic Filter Kit with Front Caps and Case and the Wolverine magnetic system is the Skyeye system is not shockproof like the Wolverine system, and the Skyeye filters have a thread at the front to allow screwed circular filters to be used with the system.

Q: 2. Does this filter allow full movement of a Laowa 15mm shift lens?

A: The Kase K9 100mm Filter Holder with the Kase 90mm Magnetic Circular Polarizer Filter for Kase K9 100mm Filter Holder will not fit on the Venus Optics Laowa 15mm f/4.5 Zero-D Shift Lens.

Q: 3. This adapter is to use for normal 67mm diameter or only for M-SERIES ?

A: The SmallRig 67mm Magnetic Filter Adapter for M Series Lenses, B&H # SM3839, supports 67mm filters and also M-series lenses.

Q: 4. Does this fit to the Tamron 150-600 mm G2?

A: Yes, the Tamron 150-600mm G2 has a 95mm filter thread size. The matte box clamps on your lens with a 95mm front.

Q: 5. Will this ring work with the discontinued Xume magnetic filter system?

A: To our knowledge, the discontinued Xume system has not be tested specifically with the Freewell Empty Magnetic Base Ring. The results may vary.

Q: 6. Is this item compatible with the Nikon 14-24 f/2.8 lens?

A: Yes, the Kase KW Revolution Magnetic CPL Filter (Silver Ring, 112mm) is compatible with the Nikon NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S Lens.

Q: 7. If you have a KASE Revolution kit, can you but this filter holder to add rectangular grad ND filters?

A: The Kase Armour Filter System Magnetic Filter Holder is an original OEM holder, available here as a convenient spare or replacement and it can't be used to add rectangular grad ND filters with the Kase Revolution kit.

Q: 8. Will the 77-82 Wolverine step up ring work with the 82mm revolution CPL?

A: Hi Paul, yes, the step up ring still could work with the Revolution CPL

Q: 9. Using a Zeiss Milvus 15mm: the lens has a 95mm filter size and 110* angle of view. Will the 95mm filter kit vignette or should I consider the next size up with a step-up ring?

A: There is always some vignetting when using ultra wide lenses with front ND filters. Whether or not the amount is acceptable to you will depend on your personal preference. However, given the distance between the front element of that specific lens and the edge of the front of the lens where the filter threads are, I would not expect such vignetting to be a result of the rim of the filter. Rather, it would be due to the angle of the entry of light and the fact that it has to go through the filter somewhat sideways. Again, this is normal with ultra wide angle lenses.

Q: 10. Does this filter rotate?

A: The Kase KW Revolution Magnetic CPL Filter (Silver Ring, 112mm) does rotate.

I don't know what else to say about this device. It does exactly what I need it to do. Lightweight, strong, and useable. SO much easier than clamps!!

I was a little suspicious of the price but after using it I feel it was worth the money.

Setting up and switching backgrounds couldn't be easier. I used it with two 5x6 popup backgrounds. With two clients, I shot three lighting schemes, with three backgrounds each. I switched backgrounds so many times, and it only took a few seconds each time. This bar is very well made and I expect it will hold up indefinitely. It might seem a little expensive for what it is, but it's worth every penny.
