This is a great camera for snapshots. Simple to use and takes great night and day pictures. Shutter can be a little slow at dusk though still fast in comparison to others I've had...

I shoot mostly with Pro DSLRs, but wanted something small that I can keep with me at all times for those unexpected shots when I don't have my serious gear camera handles well, controls are intuitive and picture quality is very good for such a small camera. got it for Christmas and the bright red was perfect for the occasion. aesthetically is a very nice looking compact camera as well. because of it's very small size and light weight you need be very aware of any movement in your own hands/body to avoid camera shake.

I use the SD780 for family & professional shots (glass artist/jeweler). I am also interested in artistic photos and use the versitle SD780. I really like the camera overall size (I can take it anywhere), the large viewing area, the superior photo quality, lens capacity, and ease of operation. I can't think of anything I don't like about it. The only improvement would be a high level SLR camera, but then things like size and ease of operation would go out the window!

The quality of pictures from Canon PowerShots just cannot be beat. I've seen and used other point and shoot cameras from olympus and nikon and they don't even compare. I finally upgraded to a new canon from my old Canon PowerShot SD300 and was not disappointed!

We have used Canon equipment for years and appreciate the the high quality of the images and the software. Our older Elph was stolen recently and we replaced it with the SD780 IS. We can easily carry this little camera in a pocket and the images are better than our older Elph. I have compared some images from this camera with those taken with my D5 and it is hard to tell the difference in smaller prints or on the Internet.
