In most cases, a mic holder, shock mount, or micro-boompole, is equipped with a standard 5/8"-27 connector, but for those occasional instances when a 3/8"-16 connector is employed, these screw adapters provide your solution for a proper microphone connector.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I have a Zoom h5. which lavalier mics do you recommend. When 2 are hooked up do I need to turn on phantom power on the Zoom for the 2 inputs. Is the recording mono or stereo?

A: I use a variety of lav mics. I mosty use Sony but I don't have the model in front of me. You'll need phantom power if your mics requre that. You'll need two mics to record in true stero but the Zoom might allow you to record mono to both L&R tracks.

Q: 2. Will it work to connect Videomic Pro to Canon XA20 XLR input?

A: it works with any mono mini-jack mic to any XLR... all standard plugs.

Q: 3. Will this work to connect the Rode Filmmaker Kit to the Tascam DR-70D? I have tried several stereo cables, but it seems to only work with mono.

A: The xlr inputs on the tascam dr70d are mono inputs. the only stereo input is the 1/8in jack.

Q: 4. Can this be used with a diety d3 pro?

A: Yes, you can use the VXLR adapter with the Deity mic.. The VXLR adapter converts 3.5mm TRS to XLR. Since the Deity mic uses a 3.5mm TRS to 3.5mm TRRS cable and you need TRS to TRS, swap out the original mic cable and use a standard stereo aux cable such as the Kopul CMX-RC30 Right-Angle Coiled Stereo Mini Cable - Black, 8 to 30" (B&H # KOCMXRC30B).

Q: 5. If I connect the 3.8mm to a Hollyland Lark Max, and the XLRs into an Ursa Mini Pro, will it split the left and right signals?

A: If the Hollyland Lark Max receiver is set to stereo mode, then the ALZO 3.5mm Female to Dual XLR Male Stereo Microphone Adapter Cord will carry left and right signals on the first and second XLR outputs respectively. If it is set to mono mode, the same mixed signal will be carried on both XLR connectors.

Q: 6. What adapters would be required to use the Rode Video Mic Pro (stereo) with a Tascam DR-40 and not go to mono?

A: Why not just connect 2 XLR ports on the mic to the 2 XLR ports on the recorder using simple XLR-XLR cables? Am I missing something?

Q: 7. Can someone confirm that this cable splits the right channel and the left channel? I'm thinking it might go well with the Deity Microphone V-Mic D4 duo on and ENG type camera such as the Sony FS5.

A: Yes. This cable will split the left and right on the 3.5mm to seperate male XLR conectors.

Q: 8. Will it work with Focusrite Saffire 14 and Media Tech SFX Pro 2 Microphone?

A: Unfortunately the Media Tech SFX Pro 2 mic can not be adapted for use with an XLR mic input. This adapter will only operate with mics terminated in an 1/8 jack that are dynamic in design or battery powered.

Q: 9. Can I use this to connect a non-powered mono lav mic (AZDEN EX503) to my mixer or audio interface?

A: Sure. The jack itself just provides connectivity (unbalanced to balanced). Looking at the AZDEN EX503, it should work.

Q: 10. Will this adapter work from the rodelink wireless to Sony FS5 XLR?

A: While I do not own the FS5, the audio inputs on your camera are XLR at mic and line level. The Rode Link outputs to 1/8 jack and will connect to your camera via this adapter perfectly using the supplied (Rode) 1/8 short cable.
