Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How heavy of a camera will this accommodate?

A: I would imagine 15 to 30 lbs would not be a problem.it is more the issue of what camera do you have. The next question would be how much can the tripod and video head accommodate. In order that we may better assist you, please write us with further detail. provideo@bhphoto.com.

Q: 2. Will this software work on Mac El Capitan?

A: Yes. // Also, if there are any other technical or product related questions, feel free to contact us directly at any time at support@dracobroadcast.com.

Q: 3. How bright is the monitor?

A: Brightness is good, no issues with that, did have issues with the tapped holes not lining up for assembly...no time to send back had to drill and tap to make it work

Q: 4. Does this work ONLY with the MagiCue software?

A: You will be able to use any Teleprompter Software with this system. Just as long as the computer you are using with this prompter works with the software.

Q: 5. Does this prompter support PTZ cameras like the AViPAS AV-1080?

A: The camera will definitely mount and work with this prompter if rigged properly and if PTZ settings sat locked so that there is no panning or tilting on subject.

Q: 6. Hi. Is it suitable for Black Magic URSA mini? What does included in box? What is the weight?

A: Yes. This teleprompter is compatible with that camera. // Also, if there are any other technical or product related questions, feel free to contact us directly at any time at support@dracobroadcast.com.

Q: 7. is there anyone who can give the total dimensions of the prompter ? Has it a 4/3 or a 16/9 screen ?Does the horizontal bar to mount the camera on the back is easily removable ?Thank you

A: Teleprompters in general will be designed with a monitor that is closer to 4:3 than 16:9, including this item from MagiCue. This also features tool-less assembly and folds flat for transport and storage, because of that it should be easy to adjust the horizontal bar and mount cameras off and on it.

Q: 8. What type of Tripod Mount does it have? 1/4 and/or 3/8?

A: Yes. It has both. There is one 3/8 -16 hole in the center, and it is flanked by two 1/4 -20 holes. // Also, if there are any other technical or product related questions, feel free to contact us directly at any time at support@dracobroadcast.com.

Q: 9. that riser for the camera looks rather tiny. Can someone clear up how much weight that bar can support? I've JVC shoulder cameras that probably weigh 15 pounds with cables and battery hooked up.

A: We have a Sony a7s with a 24-105 lens on it. It seems pretty sturdy and I think it could hold more weight without a problem...that said, the riser is too low for most cameras. I met with the manufacturer and they acknowledged that it was a common problem. Our solution was to put a fluid head on top of the riser and then mount the camera on that. It's good at prompting but it never does feel too stable when the camera is on it. It don't get the impression that it will ever fall off, but it doesn't lock tight without a bit of wiggle.

Q: 10. Is there an image flip button on the actual monitor? Or is this something I have to do using the software?

A: These answers must be outdated. I just bought this Dec 2020 and there is, in fact, a way to mirror the image onboard the monitor itself (which is very handy).
