Q: 1. Will this extension tube allow EF-S lenses to be used on EF-mount cameras, such as the new Blackmagic Design URSA Mini EF mount? I have a collection of EF-S lenses for my Canon 70D and was wondering if I'd be able to get any use out of them on an EF-mount camera such as that. Thanks

A: I don't have any EF-S lenses, but from what I understand the white dot indicates that you can mount the tube to such lenses. BUT, even if you can then mount the tube onto an EF body, you will lose infinity focus. What you gain with extension tunes is the ability to focus a lens closer for macro work. This changes the normal distance focusing ability of any lens. So I guess the answer is yes and no. Yes it should mount between an EF-S lens and and EF body, but no if you expect this to turn your EF-S lens into an EF lens.

Q: 2. I have a 70D. Can this be stacked with EF 25 II extension tube and a Canon 100mm f2.8 L IS Macro lens without light any leakage?

A: I used it on my 60D with the same macro lens with no issues.

Q: 3. Anyone used this with a Canon 50mm F/1.2 L (I'm using a 5D mk iii but assume anyone w/ a 1.2L is using a pro body). Results? Presume it preserves the amazing qualities of the 1.2?

A: With the extension tube, the quality of the lens is preserved quite well.

Q: 4. Is this extension tube compatible with the Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro lens (not the L series)? I'll be using it on a Canon 5D Mark III

A: Yes it is. Actually I also own a Canon 100mm Macro no L series too and I use two extension tubes with it. However you might sacrifice a little bit of sharpness when using two of them, and the depth of view is very shallow at 2.8, so you may have to shoot at very small appertures to have a better depth of view. And with this, you'll have to use a flash gun to iluminate the subject, but here is one tip: if you already own a 430 EX, 580EX or any othe flashgun, just attach a piece of white blank paper at it to bounce the light from above. This creates enough light to expose the subjects and very soft and defuse light making it very natural. You can check my instagram @dvl80 for some samples of macro with the settings I'm mentioning. Regards!Davi

Q: 5. Can i use CANON Extension Tube EF 25 II with my Canon 1Dx Mark II, Is it safe enough.....?

A: Yes you can. Completely compatible, but you must use a canon EF lens on the front end as well. I do prefer using a true macro lens versus an extender attached to a non-macro lens.

Q: 6. Is it possible to mount a Canon Extender EF 1.4X iii to THIS Canon Extension Tube EF 25 ii TO the Canon 100mm f/2.8L Macro?

A: Yes, that should work. I would recommend taking a look at the Canon web-site. They will have a compatibility table for the extender.

Q: 7. Will this EF 25 work well on the Canon 300mm telephoto lens?

A: It will work, but the effectiveness of an extension tube is in direct proportion to the focal length of the lens you are using it with. A 25 mm tube on a 50 mm lens is very dramatic. On a 100 mm lens it is still very noticeable but the magnification is not as extreme as with a shorter lens. I am not sure how much closer you will be able to focus with a 300 mm lens. It will change your minimum distance but I don't know if it will give you what you are looking for. You can also combine extension tubes to get closer focusing on longer lenses.

Q: 8. I have a Canon 7D, and Canon Macro Lens EF 100mm 1:28 USM. From what I have been reading the Extension Tube EF 12 II will work with my setup, correct? Auto focus will work correct? Will I gain or lose depth of field using this tube on my setup?

A: Yes it will fit your 7D. Autofocus will work. Depth of field will be reduced somewhat.

Q: 9. Is the barrel of the tube metal? Or just the mounts.

A: The barrel of the Canon Extension Tube EF 25 II is not metal .

Q: 10. Will this add some vignetting to my rokinon 8mm fisheye?

A: Hi--extension tubes can cause vignetting, but more commonly with telephoto lenses than with wide-angle lens. If there is vignetting, it should be slight.

Very useful addition if you don't wish to buy a macro lens. I use it with the nifty fifty and my 18-55mm kit lens, both are good copies. Macro 1:1 is not feasible, but it can get much closer to a flora subject than without; in some cases, close to macro size. It is a bit tricky to assemble a setup in the field, so I leave home with everything connected. Although this type photography is tripod and manual focus recommended, I use the combination outside mostly off hand and automatic with no problem. The lenses I use are the nifty fifty and the 18-55mm kit. There are other possible lens combinations but these two give me a shot at something less than macro.

When attached between the camera and lens, the EF25 II does a beautiful job of making very sharp 1:1 images of very small objects. Electrical connections are carried through from the camera to the lens so that all lens functions work properly. The price is slightly higher than other tubes but the others won't allow automatic lens functions. I feel this is well worth the extra money. The con might be that Depth-of-Field is greatly reduced, but this is true of any extender or macro lens. Usually good DoF can be accomplished by stopping down the lens and/or increasing light level. I have had superb results using this extender with both a 50mm and 200mm lens, and with the same combination on both a film camera and digital camera.

Very Useful tool, amazing images when combined with the 180mm Canon Macro. Very sharp (no loss of detail), every lens becomes a macro lens when combined with this tube.

I bought this for my 50mm prime lens cause i wanted to get closer to my subjects. It really made a difference and I feel like I can now go without buying an actual macro lens. You'll need adequate light cause it stops down a couple F stops in certain situations. Will need to practice with it at first to get use to it. Would highly recommend adding this piece of equipment to your arsenal.

12mm is just enough to put my Zeiss 85mm f:1.4 Planar ZE in close portrait range and for small still life setups, and original Canon product has good build quality and full compatibility. No problems stacking with the 25mm EF tube.
