What a fun little gem! So, to get this out of the way, no this is not a modern rendering, pixel peeping lens. It's a still super sharp unique street photography machine. Set it to f11 and infinity focus and go. Great lens to document life. Initially, I did have issues with the M to L adapter but after turning on and off exposure preview, the problem was fixed. Have the black version which should eventually start brassing. Excited to see that too,

This lens, is a small but mighty lens. 3 things... 1. Its price, is unbeatable! 2. The image quality, I can't even see the flaws that pixel peeping are saying! 3. That size is truly what stands out. It's a great lens, whilst it isn't the fastest lens, it gets the job done. I'm truly surprised how amazing the image quality for this lens deliver, it gives that nostalgic film lens, the imperfections, the time to master the focal length and framing. It's such an incognito lens that I can vanish as I walk around the city of New York. This lens is a fraction from it's competitor Leica, but is it a true replica, I dare say... it could be! This might be my daily lens for awhile now.

The finish and package are excellent and pay attention to details. Other than slow f5.6 aperture, it is a modern lens worth to try and own.

This lens is a great option for a walk-around lens during the day. Used it on my 35mm rangefinder and got really nice results. It's compact and basically turns your camera into a point and shoot when the light is good!

The sharpness of this lens is amazing! Compare to Leica Apo Summicron-90mm, the sharpness at maximum aperture is exactly the same. I am using these two lenses on M11.

Solid build. Sharp wide open (with some vignetting). Straight lines. Third place behind Leica Summicron ASPH and Voigtlander Ultron ASPH v2. Great compliment to APO 50/2 VM and Leica Tele-Elmarit-M 90/2.8 - light trio - when we're not shooting 24/3.8, 35/1.4, 75/2. Nice boxed set with push-on front & rear caps, plus rectangular push-on (tighten screw) hood. Highly recommended.

For less than one tenth the price of the Leica Summaron it's a ridiculous great deal

I love this lens gives a unique feel and works great on my Fuji x, Leica me 240, Panasonic, and Sony a7c. Great manual optics with a unique character

Have had great fun with this lens so far. Great with film and with digital. When adapting to mirrorless cameras with a helicoid adapter close focus is quite effective. Well built, good-looking lens. For this price I definitely recommend it.

I bought this lens from Pergear and it arrived about three weeks ago. I happened to have the Leica M11 on loan from Leica for a review, so I was excited to use it on that camera. I always lusted after the Leica 28/5.6 Summaron, but could never justify that price, so this was a perfect choice. It's my first TTArtisan lens as well.


In short: it's excellent. Veiling flare (and not the pretty kind) is the biggest issue - the hood mitigates this a good deal of the time, but not always; problem is how much the hood intrudes on the viewfinder frame, and of course how much bigger it makes everything. I've just resorted to using it without the hood and reframing slightly if there's undesirable flare. Sharpness is actually quite good across most of the frame at f/5.6, and very good at f/8. Beyond that, you hit diffraction territory on the M11.


For what it is, it's awesome. Cheap, tiny, well-built, good IQ, and it comes in a lovely little jewelry-type box as well! Better packaging than lenses that cost 5x the price.
