A: Yes the Zoom F3 has phantom power.

Q: 3. I bought this mic assuming that XY configurations were always at 90 or 120 degrees. But this seems to be 180 degrees (mics pointing completely sideways). I want to record rock and jazz concerts - is this the best mic configuration for my use?

A: The Audio-Technica AT8022 uses a coincident capsule configuration in order to produce and X/Y stereo image in a small housing. This mic is great for recording live music. The key is distance and a good focal point. The X-Y technique offers little to no benefit if you're too close to the source. Experiment different distances; and this all varies from venue to venue.

A: This mic is a single-channel mono. Set your recorder for two channel mono.

A: This is designed for Sennheiser transmitter like yours. Make sure your gain is turned up on the transmitter.

I am a professional videographer. This microphone is proving to be an excellent solution for video recording choral concerts. I always setup my camcorder at the back of the auditorium and need to set microphones much closer to the singers and in front of the audience as much as possible. I have routinely used wireless XLR clip-on transmitters on 2 microphones at the top of a tall microphone stand with a cross bar to hold the mics at 90-degrees to each other. That's an awkward amount of weight at the top of a skinny mic stand, and balancing the audio from both mics is always challenging. The AT8022 provides a much cleaner solution, with a single cable discreetly leading down the pole to near the base, where I connect the two transmitter modules to the right and left cable ends. In addition to being a cleaner setup, it gives me better access to the transmitter modules if I need to change batteries, turn them on/off, etc. The stereo separation is better than ever, and the microphone sensitivity seems to be nearly perfect for this application. 5

I have had this mic for over two years and have been very pleased with the results. I use it primarily for loud rock shows and it has not let me down. It captures a true sound--even at higher dBs--with nice stereo separation. I also love the fact that it supports both battery and phantom power, and provides XLR and 3.5mm output plugs. This is solidly-built mic that should last me--given decent care--for many years to come. It is worth every penny in my book. 5

The 318BTS sets up very fast, and works very well. I needed to take content that is easy for me to get to through a cell phone, and add into a project. The bluetooth takes about ten seconds to pair, and you just plug the two XLR connectors right onto the mixer. Simple as that. 5

Bought this device to test it out and very impressed with performance, buying 5 more as gifts. The device paired up quickly and effortlessly to my iPhone and gave great range. Only drawback I could see was output level, it is determined by setting volume on connected device, so you have to raise the volume on you playback device in order to get a higher level at the XLR output. 5

This device is being used during our worship services where the worship team leader is also a vocalist. While the button is depressed, it allows the primary (A) channel, which used for his house vocal to be switched to the alternate (B) channel to communicate with the other band members privately through their in-ear monitors and prompt them during a song. This unit is solidly built with a heavy gauge metal casing. The LED lights indicate the active channel. When the momentary footswitch is depressed, the B channel is activated. There is absolutely no click or popping noise in either channel as the switching occurs. This makes for a clean, distortion-free signal. The unit comes with an adapter which could have a longer cord for our application, but we easily made it work. Overall, it fits our application perfectly. 5
