The 3-stop, 67mm PROII Multicoated ND Filter from Haida darkens your image and allows you to better manipulate shutter speed and exposure. Its 0.9 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time, you can create images with motion blur or by opening up your aperture to create shallow depth of field. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters. This neutral density filter is constructed from glass and features an aluminum-alloy filter ring for durability while remaining lightweight. The front of the ring is knurled for improved grip.

Q: 5. What is the difference between this filter and the almost identical "PolarPro 77mm Peter McKinnon Edition Variable Neutral Density 1.8 to 2.7 Filter (6 to 9-Stop) (B&H link: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1479431-REG/polarpro_77_6_9_vnd_variable_nd_77mm_6.html)? I can't seem to find any differences in the description or specifications.

A: The difference between this ND Filter and PolarPro 77mm Peter McKinnon Edition Variable Neutral Density 1.8 to 2.7 Filter (6 to 9-Stop) is this Filter ring incorporates a haptic feedback mechanism for quick adjustment, without the need to stop and look at the filter position. Q: 6. Is there a version of this for AF 14 F2.8 on the FE (Sony)?

Q: 9. What is the Stop value of the 4 different filters ? Please help. Thanks

A: The ND filters are ND 0.9, 1.2, 1.8, and 3.0, which amount to 3, 4, 6, and 10-stops respectively. For a beginner's guide to ND filters and the different nomenclatures brands might use, see this B&H Explora guide: https://bhpho.to/3jKaap2

Q: 10. Is there a "minimum" spot on this filter that is light enough to focus through? Or are you trying to focus through the 6-stop ND?

A: The best way to focus with a strong ND filter like the PolarPro 82mm Peter McKinnon Signature Edition II Variable ND 1.8 to 2.7 Filter (6 to 9-Stop)is to use the live view feature if you are using a DSLR. The monitor will compensate for the filter and show a well exposed image on the LCD. Mirrorless cameras are always in live view mode so the image is visible due to the compensation. Alternatively you can remove the filter, compose and focus the shot, then attach the filter for the exposure.
