The True Color Pro Nano Circular Polarizing Filter from NiSi is designed to reduce glare and reflections from non-metallic surfaces and increase saturation and vibrancy in the sky and foliage while ensuring true color reproduction. The proprietary NiSi Pro Nano Coating helps to reduce unwanted reflections and provides a waterproof and scratch-resistant layer to assist in the cleaning of unwanted fingerprints, dust, and water stains. This circular polarizer removes the warm tone seen with other brands of CPL filters and provides a closer true color representation of the scene. It also utilizes Cine seal technology that blackens the edge of the CPL for added durability, to reduce the influence of temperature fluctuations and to keep out condensation.

The True Color CPL features a unique two-tone frame with a silver back ring and black front ring, both made from high-quality aluminum. This 77mm slimline frame design is durable and tough and has front threading to allow a lens cap, additional filter, or other accessory to be attached.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this polarizing filter work with the Fujifilm adapter ring and hood for the x100v?

A: I have not tested it with that camera, but with other lenses I did find the NiSi 49mm True Color Pro Nano Circular Polarizing Filter to be too thick and not fit with a lens hood. I recommend getting this B+W polarizer as it is thinner and works better with lens hoods. https://bhpho.to/3HD8MNg

Q: 2. Is the True Color filter built-iinto the NiSi NIP-FH100-V7-TC or can you swap it out?

A: The True Color Circular Polarizer is not built into the NiSi V7 100mm Filter Holder, so it is removable.

Q: 3. How does this compare to NiSi Ti Enhanced Landscape filter? Which is better for Tamron 17-28mm f2.8 lens?

A: While both the NiSi Ti Enhanced Landscape filter and the NiSi 82mm True Color Pro Nano Circular Polarizing Filter are appropriate circular polarizers for the Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8, there are some feature based differences. The NiSi 82mm True Color Pro Nano Circular Polarizing Filter offers a knurled ring for easier grip, but is comprised of aluminum compared to the NiSi 82mm Ti Enhanced Landscape Circular Polarizer Filter which has a titanium frame, but lacks the knurled ring.

Q: 4. The specs do not specify slim design, but the narrative description does. Is this definitively a slim design?

A: The B+W 95mm MRC Basic Circular Polarizing Filter does have a slim filter ring design. This filter is compatible with wide-angle lenses with an equivalent angle of view of a 17mm lens on a full frame camera.

Q: 5. Will this NiSi CPL TRU-color 72mm filter show vignetting while it is on the Sony 20-70mm f4 type 2 lens at 20mm ?

A: The NiSi 72mm True Color Pro Nano Circular Polarizing Filter is very thin. But has not been tested with the Sony 20-70mm f/4 lens. Chances are it will be if any very little vignette at 20mm.

Q: 6. Does this true color polarizer work with the NiSi V6 Pro Starter Filter Kit III (as opposed to the V7 kit)?

A: The polarizing filter in the NiSi V6 Pro Starter Filter Kit III is an 86mm filter, so this 82mm filter would not be compatible.

Q: 7. Can you use this on Nikon 14-24 mm lens ?

A: NiSi has a special 100mm filter holder for the Nikon 14-24 Z. Here is the link to view it! https://bhpho.to/3FpkPh0

Q: 8. A previous response states this filter is compatible with a 17mm lens. Will it also work (and not cause vignetting) on the canon RF 14-35mm at 14mm on full frame?

A: The Canon RF 14-35mm f/4 L IS USM Lens (B&H # CA1435RF) is designed with a filter thread and should work well with the B+W 77mm MRC Basic Circular Polarizing Filter.

Q: 9. Can i use this filter with NiSi 82mm Swift VND Mist Kit 1-9 Stops (1-5-Stop VND, 4-Stop ND, Black Mist 1/4) ?

A: The NiSi 82mm True Color Pro Nano Circular Polarizing Filter (B&H# NICPLTCPN82) (henceforth referred to as "this CPL filter") has 82mm male threads on the back of the filter and female 82mm ones on the front. As such, it can securely attach to typical 82mm filter thread-equipped filters, whether to this CPL filter's own front or own back threads. (Of course, screw-in filters should never be twisted in tightly because doing so could get them stuck.) Most of the filters that come with the NiSi 82mm Swift VND Mist Kit 1-9 Stops (1-5-Stop VND, 4-Stop ND, Black Mist 1/4) (B&H# NITCVSWFMK82) (henceforth referred to as "the kit") have rear 82mm male threads on the backs of their rings and thus would indeed attach to the front of this CPL filter. (The Black Mist 1/4 is the exception, but even it could be mounted with the addition of the NiSi 82mm Adapter Ring for Swift System Filters (B&H# NITCVSWFAD82) which is conveniently included in the aforementioned kit. Now, in case you are asking because you are wanting to mount this CPL filter to the fronts of the filters in the kit, that is only directly possible with the NiSi 82mm ND16 Filter for True Color VND and Swift System (B&H# NITCVSWF1282). Having said that, we should also acknowledge that the addition of an 86mm to 82mm step-down adapter ring could allow this filter to be attached to the front of the NiSi True Color ND-VARIO Pro Nano 1 to 5-Stop Variable ND Filter (82mm) (B&H# NITCVND1582). But please note that we do not generally recommend that because we would expect the addition of three items (the VND filter from the kit, then the adapter ring, and finally this CPL filter) can cause vignetting (i.e., dark or sometimes even black corners) in the image. On the other hand, using CPL filters behind VND filters can prevent the VND from working normally for complicated optical reasons that are beyond the scope of this question.

Q: 10. Are B+W polarizing filters water resistant? Can I use them in the surf? Will salt water damage them?

A: The B+W MRC Basic CPL filter does not have a tremendous amount of water-resistance to them. With anything, we recommend rinsing off any salt/sand/sediments off your items and devices if doused in saltwater. For a more water-repellent filter, we'd recommend the B+W Master CPL which has enhanced water-beading nano-coatings. https://bhpho.to/3ynwlZc
