This H&Y Filters RevoRing MRC CPL Filter is a well-designed circular polarizer that features self-retracting blades to safely mount on lenses with different thread sizes from 46-62mm. RevoRing with non-detachable filters are built with magnetic threads which fits H&Y magnetic clip-on filters. Each threaded end is designed to overlap and avoid any possibility of light leakage. In addition, this CPL filter provides an easy rotation with a small knot that helps photographers to make desirable adjustments.

The RevoRing CPL filter comes with an architectural-grade aluminum frame, keeping it lightweight and tough at the same time. Constructed from Schott optical glass, it offers a special coating that effectively reduces the glare from reflective surfaces like metal, glasses, and water. Additionally, it also protects the ring from corrosion when shooting outside in inclement weather.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. The description mentions that it has a thin ring . Others have mentioned that a thin ring prevents the use of a normal lense cap . Also that thin ring prevents the use of another filter to be attached to the front of the UV filter . Does B&W make 72mm filter that addresses these issues ?

A: I have not had any issues with a lens cap with this UV filter in place. The filter works beautifully. As for attaching other filters, I rarely attach other filters but this UV filter does have threading to allow attachment of additional filters. You could also remove this filter pretty easily and attach another filter as needed. Hope that helps..

Q: 2. Is B+H an authorized B+W dealer? I went on the Scheider Optics website and they are not listed as a dealer

A: Yes, B&H is an authorized B+W dealer.

Q: 3. What's the best way to clean this filter? I recently tried using Giotto's Professional Multi Optical Cleaning Solution with a Lens Cleaning Tissue and it left hideous streaks/residue on the surface. Nothing I did would get rid of the streaks, and in a panic I simply wet my fingers with some tap water, moistened the surface of the filter and gently used another tissue. Streaks/cleanser residue finally disappeared. So, what's up with that? I certainly didn't expect to have such a problem, especially when I bought the cleaning solution through B&H and it had such great reviews. There wasn't any info on the insert included with the filter that specified anything about cleaning recommendations. Any help is greatly appreciated.

A: I am sorry you have had such a difficult time cleaning this filter off. It is possible that the cleaning solution you purchased may not perform well with the particular coatings used on this filter. I personally use a microfiber cleaning cloth, and Zeiss brand cleaning solution on all of my lenses and filters and other optics. The solution is extremely effective and is safe for all photo optics and optical coatings. Combined with a microfiber cloth Ive never had a filter or lens I could not get clean. See the links below for a recommended microfiber cloth and the Zeiss solution:http://bhpho.to/18RsyxNhttp://bhpho.to/1dmUVGV

Q: 4. Can I use this filter on the Nikkor 105 WITH the lens hood?

A: 105 can be only with 62 filter.

Q: 5. How many multicoating's?

A: The B+W 67mm XS-Pro UV Haze MRC-Nano 010M Filter is multicoated to reduce flair. B+W does not list the number of coatings. There is also a Nano coating that provides an improved beading effect with water for more efficient cleaning.

Q: 6. I have a 52mm lens. Would i buy the RevoRing $219 and the RevoRing 52-72mm Variable Adapter to make it fit on my 52mm lens?

A: Yes you would need this adapter if you wanted to put a 77mm filter on your lens which has a filter diameter of 52mm.

Q: 7. Will this fit the voilander 40mm 1.2

A: It will not. The Voigtlander Nokton 40mm f/1.2 has a 58mm thread. Instead you would need B&H # BWUVXSP58. https://bhpho.to/2MbwZTx

Q: 8. Will this fit a zeiss Otus 85mm f/1.4? the Otus has 86mm front filter thread.

A: Yes this should fit perfectly.A very appropriate choice for such a lens!Colin

Q: 9. What's the actual weight of this filter?

A: The B+W 67mm XS-Pro UV Haze MRC-Nano 010M Filter weights in at 0.04 pounds.

Q: 10. I have several 77mm Nikon lens and several Variable ND filters (77mm). Could I use this adapter for these lens and filters?

A: If the lens filter threads on the lenses are between 67-82mm in size (such as your 77mm variable ND filters) and the Nikon lens you currently own has 82mm filter threads, then yes, the H&Y Filters RevoRing 67-82mm Variable Adapter for 82mm Filters would work for your usage needs. As the variable adapter can change thread sizes for the filters used with the adapter, you may use multiple filters from 67mm to 82mm with this adapter, saving you from having to purchase multiple step-up rings and step-down rings.

I purchased this filter because of the thin size and based on specs, allowed the most amount of natural light through. I am have attached it to the front of my new 18-135mm lens, and it gives me an extra piece of mind vs. worrying about scratching and having to replace the actual lens.

My husband has the regular thickness filter on his camera lens, and this is about half the size, thickness wise. I thought it was worth the couple extra $$ for the slimmer one.
