A: It would show, according to the LED lights, which wire is connected to which pin.

Q: 3. Roland's list for this RCC-3-TRXM cable subtitles it a "balanced interconnect cable," but the product package diagram shows one lead and one shield; no 3rd lead for balancing signal. So which is this: bal/unbal?

Q: 6. Does the switch pop when switching output in live PA situation?

A: Hi Kevin. There will in all likelihood be an audible click or pop from the switch itself when depressed. However, as a passive device, whether that noise would bleed into the signal would depend on what is connected, according to our engineers, and there is no way to really tell what noise would come through the signal beforehand. I hope this is helpful. Thank you!

Q: 8. Can it be used to switch between two AES/EBU inputs?

A: Hi Andrzej, Thanks for inquiring. This switch can switch two AES/EBU signals. Since it's a passive switch, it won't be seamless switching, and there will be a dropout in the signal while switching, but it should otherwise work for you.

Q: 9. Can you test a cable with different connectors in the same cable for example: XLR to 1/8, XLR to 1/4?

Does exactly what is advertised. Had a problem with a line running from the stage to the audio booth. Had tried switching out components and cables to no avail. When I received the SoundTools XLR Sniffer/Sender Remote End Cable Tester, could trace down the problem in a matter of minutes.
HIGHLY recommend this unit for install applications.

There's no better way to test installed XLR cable or analog snakes. The LED lights show a constant reading of continuity. If there are any faults, the LED codes instantly determine what needs correction. If there's any intermittency, the LEDs catch that, too, with a flickering status.
The phantom power testing with a snake is a cool option, too.

This Sniffer/Sender is great for tracing and checking runs from floor boxes to FOH. Too many uses to mention. Thank you Dave Rat and B&H.

We used the sniffer/sender to check our stage distribution cables after a lightning strike. It also was used to verify cable-to-stage box assignments and to identify orphan cables left under the stage following last year's remodeling. We couldn't have done it as fast or as easily without this handy device!
