Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. does this mic require 48v phantom power?

A: No, this mic is designed to be used with body pack wireless transmitters that supply 2-10 vdc.

Q: 2. I have Sony's ECM-AW4 Wireless Microphone. Will this mic work with this system?

A: The ECM-AW4 does not seem to have a 3.5mm microphone input, which it would need in order to use our EX-503 lav mic. Consult your manual or contact Sony to be sure.

Q: 3. Will this work with a Cannon Rebel T7i?

A: Hello. The mic would only come through in the left channel since you'd be plugging a MONO mic into a STEREO input. To have this wire direct into the camera, your best option would be to get a 3.5mm mono to mono cable extension and a 3.5mm mono to stereo adapter.

Q: 4. What is the head diameter of the microphone?

A: I don't have it with me but - with the foam buffer its around 15-18mm without 8-10mm

Q: 5. If I combine this with a MiCon-1 adapter can I use it in my RodeLink?

A: No - the MiCon adapter are for RODE lavalier mics only.

Q: 6. Thanks for answering previous question. At Azden I see Azden EX-503 | Azden EX-503L | Azden EX-503H. I dint understand the potential difference among them in terms of sound quality. How to choose among these three.I want you use it for interview and documentary work with zoom H1, which one should i look for? How is the ambient sound cancellation?

A: My 14 yo has been using this item for interviews and is very happy. He has used it for school, small buisness, and religious events. There is some ambient noise when background noise is high but for routine interviews and recording speeches it works well. Value for cost is good.

Q: 7. Will these mics work with Canon Vixia camcorders? What is the best wired mic for use with these canon vixia camcorders?

A: Canon Vixia camcorders are not able to supply power to mics that require it such as the Azden EX-503. You will need to use a mic that is able to supply its own power which is generally by a battery. The Polsen OLM-10 is one example which features a small battery inline.

Q: 8. Will this mic work with the Azden 15BT wireless transmitter?

A: No it will not. The EX-507XD works with the PRO-XD transmitter and most mobile devices when plugged into the headset port, but will not work with other Azden transmitters. For the 15BT you should purchase either the EX-503L or EX-50L microphone.

Q: 9. I may have missed it, but I can't seem to find the length of the wire - how long is the wire? Bonus question - what would be a good extension if I needed to extend the wire?

A: The cable length is about 4 feet. I don't have a specific extension to recommend, but you'll want to look for a mono audio cable that is 3.5mm TS female to 3.5mm TS male.

Q: 10. Will it come with foam and clip or i have to buy it extra??

A: I have three of these. It comes with the foam and clip.
