The EX-507XR Lavalier Microphone for PRO-XR from Azden is designed to be used with the PRO-XR wireless system. The EX-507XR is an omnidirectional lapel mic with a wide frequency response and a sensitive electret condenser capsule, but it's 3.5mm TRS plug allows it to be used with a variety of wireless systems, from Azden's own VHF Pro Series and 310/330 UHF systems to third-party wireless systems compatible with 3.5mm lavalier inputs.

The lav mic features a right-angle plug on it's attached four foot cable for preventing accidental disconnections, and the included alligator lapel clip makes it easy to attach to clothing. Simple plug-in power (1-10 VDC) is all it needs to get rolling, and the mic can be an excellent companion not only to wireless transmitters, but also to cameras and digital audio recorders. Whether you are looking to replace your PRO-XR mic or are simply looking for a high-performing and affordable lavalier mic to add to your location recording system, the EX-507XR can deliver quality performance on-the-go.

Q: 1. Good afternoonI have an old Sony-urx-p1-utx-b1 kit, but has lost my lavalier.Does this Azden lavalier work on my kit?RegardsJonny PedersenThe Steadicam Operaotr

A: It is very unlikely the Azden EX-503 will work with your UTX-B1. The connector on the Sony transmitter is a locking 3.5mm screw connector. The Azden is not, also the wiring may be different. The lav normally used as a replacement would be the Sony ECM-77BMP.

Q: 2. If I combine this with a MiCon-1 adapter can I use it in my RodeLink?

A: No - the MiCon adapter are for RODE lavalier mics only.

Q: 3. Can this mic be use with Samsung Tab E running Sound Spectrum Pro RTA?

A: For use with iPhone, iPad, Galaxy tablets or phones, and most Android devices.

Q: 4. Thanks for answering previous question. At Azden I see Azden EX-503 | Azden EX-503L | Azden EX-503H. I dint understand the potential difference among them in terms of sound quality. How to choose among these three.I want you use it for interview and documentary work with zoom H1, which one should i look for? How is the ambient sound cancellation?

A: My 14 yo has been using this item for interviews and is very happy. He has used it for school, small buisness, and religious events. There is some ambient noise when background noise is high but for routine interviews and recording speeches it works well. Value for cost is good.

Q: 5. Thank you... So the Rode SC6 Dual TRRS is compatible with the Azden EX-503i mic?

A: The Azden EX-503i can be used with the SC6 adapter.

Q: 6. Will it come with foam and clip or i have to buy it extra??

A: I have three of these. It comes with the foam and clip.

Q: 7. Can this mic work with 48v phantom power?

A: No, this mic requires plug-in power, which is 2 to 10 VDC.

Q: 8. I see this is the 503L - what is the difference from the 503?

A: Pretty sure the 503L screws down onto the transmitter so it won't come unplugged, the 503 just plugs in but doesn't lock down.

Q: 9. How long is the cord?

A: The Cord Length of the EX-503i is 1.2m (4 ft)

Q: 10. Is this compatible with the SONY WRT-820A?

A: This microphone is not compatible with any Sony systems. Your Sony wireless system requires a mic with the SMC9-4P connector, such as the Sony ECM-44BC Omni-Directional Lavalier Condenser Microphone with 4-Pin Connector,B&H # SOECM44BC.
