Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What type/support of a tripod is this, a 0 or 1?

A: If you are referring to Gitzo Series 0 or 1, this one has the same top leg diameter as the 1 series (25 mm). The 0 series has 21 mm legs. (I don't own it, just from the spec sheets of both)

Q: 2. Will this tripod hold a weight of a little over 10lbs without shaking or vibrating in the wind?

A: The Manfrotto MT190CXPRO3 Carbon Fiber Tripod is rated for up to 15.4 lb. So this can comfortably hold 10 lb.

Q: 3. Can this be used with the Sirui Gimbal?

A: Yes, you will be able to use this tripod with the Sirui PH-20 Gimbal Head, B&H # SISUPH20. https://bhpho.to/2VBZSHW

Q: 4. Can I use a wimberly side kick with this?

A: The Wimberley Arca Sidekick Ball to Gimbal Head Adapter needs to be used on a ball head that has an Arca-style quick-release clamp. The Manfrotto MT190CXPRO3 Carbon Fiber Tripod does not include a ball head. You could add the Oben BC-166 Ball Head to the tripod then they could use the Wimberley Arca Sidekick. Here is the link: https://bhpho.to/3ZMirv1.

Q: 5. Is there a way to place a weight hook on the bottom of the center column?

A: Unfortunately, the MT190CXPRO3 would not be capable of accepting a hook at the end of the column.

Q: 6. How do you attached the 19mm adapter? Do you need to remove the 15?

A: Hello Juan, Thank you for your question! Yes to attach the 19 mm adapter, you need to remove the 15mm. An allen key is provided for you to do that. We hope this helps and we thank you for your interest in our products. The SHAPE team

Q: 7. Is this monopod's spiked foot removable, in a similar manor to the Giottos?I want to add a set of legs to it, and the monopod would require a 3/8 threaded female opening once the spike is removed.

A: No, it doesn't appear that the spiked foot is removable. The lowest section has a nice rubber cap on it, which rotates. When you turn it clockwise, the spike is extruded, but does not appear removable. Turn the rubber foot counterclockwise, the spike retracts into the rubber foot. It looks like it can be used either with the rubber foot, or with the spike extruded; the inner channel of the rubber foot does not have the female threadings you are looking for.

Q: 8. is there an option for the Head to be a bowl instead of flat?

A: There is an adapter that you will need to use to use bowl heads on a flat base tripod such as the 057. Take a look at the Manfrotto 325N Video Head Adapter, which will allow you to use a 75mm or 100mm half bowl on a flat base tripod with a 3/8 thread: http://bhpho.to/1paQ8Rm

Q: 9. What is the load capacity of the leg that can be used as a monopod? How effective is it compared to a dedicated monopod?

A: My guess is take the total and divide by 3. I like the monopod from Sirui that has a small set of three legs. It stands on its own. However, I would not trust it to hold a camera.

Q: 10. can you change center colume for a short one?

A: There is no short column needed because the center column can be set to 90 degrees. That makes the column shorter in a sense and allow you to set the tripod as low as 3.5 inches.

I've used this only a few times but this is better than my previous monopod from Manfrotto. I can even say that this one takes the cake. Light & compact that it will fit perfectly in a small size backpack. Excellent to take when traveling.
