The generous 35 lb load capacity of the RTH-1030 enables the smooth positioning of almost any type of camera, ranging from simple compact models up to heavy camera-plus-lens combinations, with stable and secure results.

The locking knob includes an integrated tension dial that sets the minimum amount of friction on the ball. This ensures there's friction, even when the main locking knob is disengaged. This feature assures control of your camera and lens when you need to quickly unlock and reposition the ball head.

The Arca-type compatible quick release plate allows the camera and lens set to be quickly mounted. It incorporates a bubble level for precise horizontal alignment, and a +/- 25mm scale for precise quick release plate positioning. The included AQR-60 quick release plate has a D-ring 1/4"-20" mounting screw, rubber traction strips to prevent camera rotation, and security pins to prevent it from accidentally releasing from the mounting platform while being positioned.

The panning base operates independently from the main tension knob and features its own locking knob. A highly visible precision scale adds simplicity to panoramic imaging and creating repeatable results.

For exceptional strength and stability, the RTH-1030 head is constructed with aircraft-grade aluminum that can stand up to demanding use and travel and perform at the highest level. All of the control knobs are cross-hatch knurled for easy gripping.

The base of the RTH-1030 ball head features an industry-standard 3/8"-16 mounting socket machined from corrosion-resistant brass, making it compatible with virtually any tripod leg set. The socket is made from reinforced brass to resist wear for long life and reliable, secure tightening.

Quickly change the camera orientation from landscape to portrait using the 90° notch.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the B2 traction control have ”clicks?”

A: No " clicks"

Q: 2. What is the diameter of the base?

A: The Robus RTH-1030 Triple Action Ball Head base diameter is 2 in. (5.1 cm).

Q: 3. Will this fit a Nikon D7100?

A: Justin:Unless your cam weighs more than 17.6 lbs (not likely) and DOES NOT have a 1/4 -20 tripod screw hole (also not likely) in the bottom then it'll work.fine. (The screw hole is pretty standard on most (all?) DSLRs and other camera types, too.) What you might want to put on the bottom of your camera is an L-bracket so you can easily attach the cam to the tripod head since the head uses an Arca-type plate. Talk to customer service to get the right bracket for you camera.

Q: 4. Why is this ball head not recommended for use on a monopod?

A: Typically ball heads offer too much motion when unlocked, which can be hard to handle when using a monopod. With only two hands to grip onto the camera or lens; monopod itself; or the head/tension release knob, using a ballhead could make it difficult to secure the lens in the correct position/orientation. Alternatively, using a monopod head limits the motion to a single axis via the primary tension knob, making it easier to adjust for tilt while not giving you any hassle with pan or roll.

Q: 5. want to replace the mounting screw with aOBEN d RING- Oben 1/4 -20 Screw with D-Ring for RP Plates B&H # OBRPS14D MFR # RPS-14DWhen I contacted the agent, he said that it would not fit. This is the same plate used on Mefoto and I was told that MEfoto and Benro are the same. Is this true?

A: The Oben 1/4 -20 Screw with D-Ring for RP Plates B&H # OBRPS14D can work on Induro PU series plates which is the same plate as MeFOTO and Benro. Induro, MeFOTO and Benro are brands under the Mac Group.

Q: 6. would this fit my Manfrotto 055PRO tripod?

A: Yes, the Benro IB2 Triple Action Ball Head can fit the Manfrotto 055PRO tripod legs.

Q: 7. Is the RTH-1050 compatible with the Robus CC-001 Center Column?

A: Yes. The Robus RTH-1050 Triple Action Ball Head is compatible with the Robus CC-001 Center Column for Vantage Series 3 and 5 Carbon Fiber Tripods.

Q: 8. What is the screw size and thread pitch of the ball head female hole ( where you attach the arca clamp)?

A: While Benro indicates the thread size of the screw socket on the base of the Benro B3 Triple Action Ball Head is a 3/8"-16 female-threaded socket, and the thread on the top of the quick release plate is a 1/4-20" male thread, they do not indicate the size of the thread holding the quick release clamp to the ball stem on the ball head.

Q: 9. Does anyone know if my ProMediaGear C60 Arca-Type Quick Release Clamp can be used on this Benro B2 ball head?

This is a fantastic ball head. The build quality is awesome. It's made of aircraft-grade aluminum, and you can tell. Feels well-machined, smooth, and strong. Specs say it can hold 35 pounds which is really impressive, but I'm not surprised considering how well it is made. I attached my Canon 5d with no problems. It held it in place easily. It comes with an Arca-type quick release receiver and plate, which is fantastic. I have a bunch of products that use Arca, so it meshes well with a lot of my other gear. Having a tension control is also very helpful. I love this feature. Makes adjustments of the head easy, smooth and safe. You can also customize the resistance to the size of the camera mounted or the moves you are trying to make. Love that. The separate locking nob works well also. Comes with a nice 90-degree notch to lock it in place for vertical shots. This is fairly common for ball heads, but still nice to have and this one locks in place very securely. The panoramic base works well and having degrees listed could also come in handy and is a nice addition. I combined this head with Oben tripod legs I already owned and it worked well with it. Again, I'm very impressed with this ball head. Its extremely well built and designed. it's a pleasure to work with. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review]

I had a big and clunky 3 wand head before and this is so compact and easy to operate. It holds well at all angles. So glad I got it!

I was already using the larger Robus RTH-1050 for my full size setup (Nikon D850 and various lenses) and in the processing of switching to a mirrorless setup for hiking and backpacking. When Robus reached out and asked me if I wanted to give the new RTH-1030 a try, I couldn't resist... Upon opening the box it was very noticeable how much smaller the RTH-1030 was compared to the RTH-1050. It's also about half the weight which makes it great for longer hikes when weight is a factor. While it works perfect with my mirrorless setup, I can't lie, It also works perfect with my full size setup. There have been a few times when I forgot to put the other tripod in the car. Built to true Robus standards and quality, this little ball head performs like a champ. No matter which tripod I pick for the day, I know my images will be sharp thanks to how solid and sturdy this ball head is. The RTH-1030 already now carries the bulk of my workload when I'm out in the field. I love the easy to use quick release plate and the tension controls. The tension controls make it super easy to work with when you need to move the camera between compositions while keeping the camera in place while shooting. I like to think of it as an extra security feature. If your camera doesn't have in internal level, this ball head has one for you. If you have any questions about this ball head please ask and I'll be happy to answer them for you.

I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that Robus made this 1030 Triple Action Ball Head. I was looking for a lighter ball head to use while hiking; so, knowing what a bargain its big brother was, I ordered it. When it arrived I was impressed with the quality to price ratio, just as I have been with all of the Robus products I have owned. Most of my photography is of wildlife, and if I use a tripod, I generally use a gimble head; but there are times when a ball head makes sense for shooting other subjects, and it will be nice to have such a sturdy version with me, when the need presents itself.
