The black Point Source Audio Series8 CO-8WL Omnidirectional Waterproof Lavalier Microphone (Audio-Technica) is a miniature mic designed to deliver a natural vocal sound for recording and live sound reinforcement applications such as concerts, musical theater, interviews, public speaking, and more. Featuring an unobtrusive mic element only 4mm in diameter, it can easily fit behind a button of the performer's clothing or be hidden in a hairline.
The Series8 CO-8WL's omnidirectional polar pattern allows for a variety of mic placement options as it picks up the voice from all directions equally and doesn't need to be lined up with the mouth. The mic offers an IP57 rating, which protects it against water, sweat, and makeup, commonly harmful to microphones.
The unit comes with a windscreen, cable clip, storage box, and an interchangeable cH X-Connector for Audio Technica cH-Style wireless systems.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. will this mic work with my canon vixia HF R500?
A: Rico, it should work just fine, see page 84 of your manual. However, note that I do not see a hot-shoe mount on your canon model. Which means it would have to be attached to your camera somehow (rubberbands) or hand-held, which would not be optimal.
Q: 2. Do you need to purchase separately an XLR cable to connect it to a digital voice recorder like the TASCAM DR100 MKII? If so, any recommendations for which cable to get?
A: The Audio Technica AT8035 will not include a cable. For connecting to a recorder like the DR-100 MKII you will need an XLR mic cable. The Kopul 3000 series cables are an excellent choice. Available in lengths from 1 to 100 feet depending on your application. Please see the following link: http://bhpho.to/1FcPvxy
Q: 3. Did the Audio Tcnica Pro 24 CM work with an iPhone 5...?! What kind of accesories can i buy in b&h to make it work...?!
A: don't know
Q: 4. Will this mic work with Nikon D3200? I'm not sure whether D3200 has a plug-in power supply, but it does has external stereo mini-pin jack (3.5mm diameter).
A: It works great on he canon 3ti...and should be the same on the Nikon.
Q: 5. How could I use this with the canon 60D?
A: The AT875 shotgun mic requires phantom power which a DSLR camera is not able to provide. To connect this an similar mics that require phantom power, an additional preamp/adapter will be necessary for connection and power. The Beachtek units are a great choice.
Q: 6. Is this battery powered or externally powered? One review mentions changing the battery ("required needle-nose pliers"); but the specs here say "Power Requirements = 2-10VDC plug-in power". So which is it?
A: According to the Audio-Technica page for the Pro 24-CM underneath the "Features" tab; You can use it with an LR44 battery in microphone inputs that are not equipped with plugin power. Or, you can use it without the LR44 battery with microphone inputs that are equipped with mic plugin power. https://www.audio-technica.com/cms/wired_mics/97a500a93cd279a8/index.html
Q: 7. Can I connect this direct to my Canon R5 ?
A: Yes, the Audio Technica BP4002 Handheld Microphone for Speech will be able to connect to the Canon R5 via a cable like B&H # KOXRSM06B.
Q: 8. Is the AT8035 moisture resistant?
A: No, the Audio-Technica AT8035 Long Shotgun Microphone is not moisture-resistant. As an option for a long shotgun microphone that is moisture-resistant, you can use the Deity Microphones S-Mic 2 Moisture-Resistant Shotgun Microphone (B&H # DESMIC2) or the RODE NTG3B Moisture-Resistant Shotgun Microphone (B&H # RONTG3B).
Q: 9. I'm confused by the range numbers for Phantom Power. Does the low to high voltage range mean that the mic only takes the power it needs? I have a portable SHURE mixer that allows one to select either 12v or 48v. For the AT 897R, which position should I select on the mixer? Why would this mixer offer an option like this? Is not Phantom Power either ON or OFF?
A: Hi Craig,Short answer: set the Phantom power to 48V. It is what the AT mic uses, and it is the industry standard. 12V (also called 'T-Power') is a standard used with some European equipment like Nagra tape recorders, but for virtually all modern applications, 48V is what is used in broadcast and recording.Claus.
Q: 10. Which case comes with this microphone? I have an old AT815b and my case just fell apart. I need a replacement case
A: The Audio-Technica AT8035 Long Shotgun Microphone includes the Audio-Technica SG1 Case. Audio-Technica specifies the SG3 Case for use with the AT815b Line+ Gradient Condenser Microphone, which is not offered by B&H at this time.
