The brown Point Source Audio Series8 CO-8WL Omnidirectional Waterproof Lavalier Microphone (Audio-Technica) is a miniature mic designed to deliver a natural vocal sound for recording and live sound reinforcement applications such as concerts, musical theater, interviews, public speaking, and more. Featuring an unobtrusive mic element only 4mm in diameter, it can easily fit behind a button of the performer's clothing or be hidden in a hairline.

The Series8 CO-8WL's omnidirectional polar pattern allows for a variety of mic placement options as it picks up the voice from all directions equally and doesn't need to be lined up with the mouth. The mic offers an IP57 rating, which protects it against water, sweat, and makeup, commonly harmful to microphones.

The unit comes with a windscreen, cable clip, storage box, and an interchangeable cH X-Connector for Audio Technica cH-Style wireless systems.

Q: 5. Does it have auto return and shut off?

A: 1. When you press the tonearm lift button, the tonearm rises from the tonearm rest. 2. Position the tonearm over the desired location (groove) on the record. 3. Press the tonearm lift button. • When you press the tonearm lift button, the tonearm descends slowly onto the record and play begins Stopping the record Once the record has played to the end, the tonearm will automatically return to the tonearm rest. To manually stop the record, do the following. 1. Lower the volume of the amplifier, speakers, etc. sufficiently. 2. Press the STOP button. • Once the record stops playing, the tonearm automatically returns to the tonearm rest. 3. Remove the record after the platter has come to a complete stop. • When the tonearm reaches the end (center) of the record, it will automatically lift and return to the tonearm rest. Do not interfere with its motion. Doing so can cause the product to malfunction. If the tonearm does not lift and return to the tonearm rest, press the STOP button to complete this operation. • If the felt mat gets dirty, it can easily scratch the record, so remove the felt mat periodically and wipe off any dust. • To prevent the record from scratches and warping, remove it after use. • Do not use a disk stabilizer. • Do not use a platter other than the one provided. • This product is not intended for DJs. Do not touch the record or the platter while the record is playing.

Q: 6. Is this battery powered or externally powered? One review mentions changing the battery ("required needle-nose pliers"); but the specs here say "Power Requirements = 2-10VDC plug-in power". So which is it?

A: According to the Audio-Technica page for the Pro 24-CM underneath the "Features" tab; You can use it with an LR44 battery in microphone inputs that are not equipped with plugin power. Or, you can use it without the LR44 battery with microphone inputs that are equipped with mic plugin power. https://www.audio-technica.com/cms/wired_mics/97a500a93cd279a8/index.html

Q: 9. How does the sound quality of this mic compare to the Audio-Technica AT8024?

A: This mic is stereo only, and has a little less low end frequency response than the AT8024, but otherwise the overall sound quality is very similar.

Q: 10. How could I use this with the canon 60D?

A: The AT875 shotgun mic requires phantom power which a DSLR camera is not able to provide. To connect this an similar mics that require phantom power, an additional preamp/adapter will be necessary for connection and power. The Beachtek units are a great choice.
