Q: 9. Can I use this controller with a WIRED IR extender/repeater to control a Panasonic AW-UE70 mounted where I do not have line-of-sight access to the sensor on the camera? In other words - does it use a non-standard wavelength or frequency transmission?

A: Regarding the frequencies - this is a better question for Panasonic and the manufacturer of the IR extender you are planning to use. Chances are that it will work. I have had excellent success with Niles IR repeaters and most every brand of remote that I have used with it (Sony, Samsung, Yamaha, Panasonic, JVC, to name a few) . For a more expensive and very reliable solution I use Universal Remote Control remotes and their MRF 350 RF base station so you don't need line of sight to an IR repeater. I have even used the supplied IR remote of various pieces of gear pointed at a mirror that aims at the equipment to go around a corner in a room and it is very reliable. The distance is a factor...RF is good for typically 50 feet, depending on the wall construction.

Q: 10. Is this backward compatible to thunderbolt 2?

A: The OWC Mercury Pro U.2 Dual requires Thunderbolt 3 as a host connection for proper operation.
