Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Canon xf705 has ISO?
A: The XF705 does not have ISO, that is something found on photo cameras and cinema cameras.
Q: 2. Will the XF705 HEVC work with Final Cut Pro X?
A: Yes, Final Cut Pro X has full support for HEVC (H.265) format.
Q: 3. What are the slow motion options in UHD 4:2:2, 10 bit?
A: This camcorder allows for UHD 4K 10 Bit 422 at up to 60fps. That can be a 2x Slow Motion on a 30fps timeline or 2.5x on a 24fps timeline.
Q: 4. Is the LCD screen included with the unit? Not listed on “what’s in the box” but specs are listed.
A: Yes it is. The camcorder has a rotatable 4.0" LCD Touchscreen, which is built in to the camera.
Q: 5. Can any files from this camera be imported directly into Final Cut Pro X?
A: Yes, the XF705 can record in h.265, which can be directly imported into Final Cut.
Q: 6. How would this compare with Nikon Z6, 35mm prime and Atomos for TV quality recording?
A: Both will give you outstanding image quality, however it is very difficult to do a comparison between this camcorder with a 1" sensor and 15x Optical Zoom lens and a Full Frame Mirrorless Photo Camera with a fixed 35mm lens. They are designed to serve two very different purposes.
Q: 7. Have you had any problems mounting a light on this camera with a shotgun mic attached?
A: It's possible that depending on the size and model of the on-camera light, there may be some issues with clearance, but using an additional shoe mount adapter like the one illustrated here, should solve the problem: https://bhpho.to/3dJmeTJ
Q: 8. For TV quality recording, how How would this compare with Nikon Z6, 35mm prime lens and Atomos external for 10 bit 422?
A: Both will give you outstanding image quality, however it is very difficult to do a comparison between this camcorder with a 1" sensor and 15x Optical Zoom lens and a Full Frame Mirrorless Photo Camera with a fixed 35mm lens. They are designed to serve two very different purposes.
Q: 9. What is Canon's estimate for when Adobe will support the Canon version of the H265 codec?
A: I am sorry to say that we do not have an ETA on when Adobe will support the Canon XF-HEVC format at this time. However we do know that it is something they are aware of.
Q: 10. Does this camcorder offer cache recording?
A: Yes, this does offer pre-recording.
