This 3- to 7-stop, 72mm Nano-X Magnetic Variable ND Filter from K&F Concept allows you to quickly install the filter adapter ring on the lens thanks to its magnetic properties. The filter utilizes cutting-edge technology to avoid the common "X" cross on a wide-angle and telephoto lens. Both sides of the glass have nano-coating layers that make it waterproof, scratch resistant, and glare resistant, effectively protecting the camera lens.

This variable ND8-ND128 filter with magnetic technology can be installed in seconds for a faster installation than traditional thread filters.
The adapter ring has a thread to be screwed onto the lens. The ND8-ND128 magnetic filter engages in a magnetic way. Magnetic adapter rings are also suitable for other magnetic filters such as the magnetic CPL, magnetic ND8, magnetic black mist, and the magnetic ND1000 by K&F Concept.
K&F Concept utilizes cutting-edge technology (frame self-lock) to avoid the common "X" cross on a wide-angle and telephoto lens.
Both sides of the glass have nanometer coating (a total of 28 layers) that makes it waterproof, scratch resistant, and anti-glaring, effectively protecting the camera lens.
Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Hello. I purchased this filter but I am having difficulty working out the stop values for each dotted marker increment on the outside ring? I assume the first dot is 1 stop and last dot is 5 stops. If you divide the rest by 1/3 stop or 1/2 stop, then it does not work out mathematically. Any tips or manuals for this lens?
A: Unfortunately, this is typical of most variable neutral density filters across the spectrum. The markings between the minimum and maximum do not accurately indicate a precise number of stops, and even brands than mark them with ND factors miss the mark significantly; some brands are off by 1/3~2/3 stops with engraved filter factors. While I am not familiar with the physics and/or engineering reason for this, a commonly accepted technique is to adjust the camera settings first and then dial in the VND filter factor. This might be hard/impractical with longer shutter speeds though, so preemptive testing might be necessary.
Q: 2. Can this variable B+W ND be stacked with a B+W ND 10-Stop filter in order to achieve a 13-15 Stop result?
A: Yes, but shooting thru several pieces of glass will reduce image quality.
Q: 3. Can I use this on my Nikon wide-angle lens 10-24mm without vignette?
A: Most likely, no. The rim on this filter being the variable midel, is much wider than a standard ND would be. You definitely need to find a fixed stop ND for a wide angle. Even with that, you may still have slight vignetting at the 10mm end.
Q: 4. Is the outer-edge threaded?. If so, what size?
A: There does not appear to be any sort of screw for mounting another lens on the front of this one.
Q: 5. Does this filter work with an M.Zuiko Olympus F2.8 Pro 12-40mm?And would a step down ring 52-62mm cause vignetting?
A: It will work with that lens. If your using a 52-62mm step up ring from a smaller lens you will be ok. If your using a step down to put a 52mm filter on a 62mm lens then you will most likely have vignetting.
Q: 6. When stopped to the highest setting (5 stops) does the image degrade (sharpness, cross hatching)?
A: I've shot extensively with the 95mm, 72mm, & 67mm versions. You don't get any cross-hatching, but a definite vignette in the corners toward the 5 stop range when shooting photos. Video is not an issue as it crops to 16:9. Other than than, negligible colour cast & no sharpness issues.
Q: 7. Will it fit Sigma 16mm F1.4 DC DN EF-M?
A: Yes, as the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens has 67mm filter threads on the front of the lens, the K&F Concept Nano-X Variable Fader NDX HD Green-Coated Waterproof Anti-Scratch Japan Optics Filter (67mm, ND2-32) is compatible for use with the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens.
Q: 8. Does the front filter thread rotate when changing ND Amount? Looking to add a step up ring and go to a matte box.
A: Yes, the front threads on this filter are a 86mm size.
Q: 9. Will this fit Zeiss Batis 67mm lens with the hood ON?
A: I would say most likely no as I cannot use a hood with any of my lenses when using this filter.
Q: 10. does this 95mm filter still allows for the Sony 200-600 mm lens factory hood to be mounted with the filter on?
A: You coudl use the included lens hood on the Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS Lens with the B+W 95mm XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC-Nano Filter.
