A: The index cards are 5" x 7 3/8". These cards are scored at one side and the bottom to be easily trimmed for use in smaller-size boxes. When the cards are trimmed, the size is 4 3/8" X 6 3/8"

Q: 2. Will this comfortably hold a 18x24 sheet of watercolor paper or should I opt for the larger 24.4 x 36.25 size?

A: An 18X24 sheet of watercolor paper will slide in nicely as long as it is truly square. The only problem you might have is if the paper has been matted. An 18x24 mat and backing will only fit in a bag this size if it is very thin. I would purchase a larger sized bag if I was going to use it to protect matted work.

Q: 3. What weight paper are these envelopes made from? opacity?

A: The Archival Methods Flap Envelope - 9 x 12", 50 Pack (Cream) is a 7pt thick card stock page. They do not specify the opacity.

Q: 4. Are these bags waterproof. If my wartime letter collection was in a flooded house, would this bag protect them from being damaged? A further recommendation: A margin of plastic with hole punches for a 3 ring binder would make this item much better. I'm looking for a zip locking style bag that's relatively waterproof with a side that's hole punched. Seems like every family historian could use such an item.

A: The sleeves have 4 pockets on one side only. They open at the top.

Ive been ordering hard to find items from B&H Photo for well over 15 years and I have to admit: theyve never let me down. Exactly the right kind of item I need no matter how unique, at a very reasonable price, and quick shipment of items ordered (even those not in stock where they have to notify their supplier to direct ship to me). The large archival bags are perfect for containing a LOT of extremely old magazines, brochures, and books in my late sisters Estate so they wont loose any of their value. Im talking 1900-era LARGE magazines as well as early 1900 highly collectible thick scrapbooks as well as family heirlooms. These arent the everyday expendable items I normally have to buy - theyre once in a lifetime. I knew I could rely on B&H Photo to have the right archival supplies to store hundreds of items so my late Sisters collections can be passed on to delight others. These are great bags to use for pictures. I shoot dog agility and sell them at trials. These bags are great for protecting the photos. 5

To me this has proved to be a wise investment. I have taken photos for personal use and really had no good place to store them or a way to pass around to friends and family without them getting finger prints all over them. It has a flap to secure the image and help keep dust out. They seem fairly rugged also. 5

These poly bags do the job well in protecting mounted prints. I've never gotten inventory back from a dealer with a damaged print or scuffed matte. And they last many years without degradation. Highly recommended. 5

Got these to store the 24x36 prints made on Canson Photo Rag. The paper was more than $ a sheet and unless matted and framed, it needs protection, and these bags serve that purpose extremely well - they are just a little larger so the prints slide in with no difficulty. But the best part is the crystal clarity that made the prints look almost the same as in the flesh, or without any obstructions. Compared to the slightly frosted bags we used to use, these are day and night different!24x36 is about the largest size they come in. I've been using many of the smaller sizes and they are all great! 5

Great economical way to preserve your 24 X 36 posters - fits perfectly (even has a nice leeway for slightly oversized backing if needed) and seals up nicely. Don't pay more at other sites - this is all you need! 5
