This pack of 11 x 14" Warm White 4-Ply 100% Museum Board from Archival Methods contains 25 boards that are 1/16" thick. The board is designed for matting, mounting and preservation of fine prints, precious documents, as well as for traditional and digital photography. The 4-ply thickness is ideal for window mats and mat backing, creates a separation between artwork and glazing, and provides a flat, supportive backing.

The boards are acid- and lignin-free and use alkaline or neutral sizing. No brightening agents are used and no yellow cast is present. All boards are buffered with calcium carbonate to ensure that a polluted environment won't cause paper's pH value to decrease with age.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will an 11x14 print fit inside?

A: Archival Methods Archival White Paper (11 x 14", 100 Sheets) is separate sheets of 11x14 size archival paper.

Q: 2. How thick is this board exactly? I'm looking for something to dry mount ink jet photographs.

A: Hi Brittany -- I use this for mounting traditional photos. It is not rigid, it will bend, but it is solid enough to support your prints as long as you mat and frame them. I wouldn't use it for mounting prints without a mat.Hope this helps.Russ

Q: 3. Is there acid in these boards? If there is, how much of a concern is that to the longevity of a photo attached to it? thanks!

A: The Archival Methods Bright White Pre-Cut Exhibition Mat (11 x 14" Board for 8.5 x 11" Print, 5-Pack) is archival material. The mat is made of 100% cotton fiber that is acid- and lignin-free, and incorporates alkaline or neutral sizing, and the linen tape is a pH-neutral water-activated adhesive.

Q: 4. Which kind of tape should I use with this product (to close the mat)? Thanks!

A: I use Scotch double sied removable scrapbooking tape. It is photo safe and conforms to ASTM D4236 and ISO 18916. It comes in a roll (in a scotch tape like dispenser) 1.2 in x 300 in. The removal of the top protective backing is a bit of an art. Since the mats have hinges, you need not worry about that. Lineco makes self adhesive hinging tissue. Can go to a hobby store and purchase these.

Q: 5. What is the thickness of these boards?

A: Per Archival Methods website: approximately 1/32 of an inch.

Q: 6. Are the mounting corners included with this product for mounting the prints on the board?

A: Mounting corners are not included. Look for acid-free mounting corners or linen hinging tape--Lineco is a brand I can recommend that is available from B&H.

Q: 7. Do you sell any 52" mounting board?

A: The largest mounting board we sell is 40 x 60 x 3/16". https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1245123-REG/nielsen_bainbridge_cc4060_3c_clay_coated_foam_core.html

Q: 8. Does this board have adhesive on one side?

A: There is no adhesive on Archival Methods 13 x 19" 2-Ply 100% Cotton Museum Board (25-Pack, Antique White).

Q: 9. These are for a dry mounting press?

A: The Archival Methods 11 x 14" 2-Ply 100% Cotton Museum Board can be used in a dry-mount press.

Q: 10. Is the color bright white, normal white or is it a yellowish white?I'm required to get white acid free mounting board 4 ply 11x14 so I don't know if this will work for my darkroom black and white prints. Thanks!

A: I'd say it is a light cream white. It definitely fits some photos much better than the usual harsh gallery white.

Boards were used for museum displays of vintage buttons. White color was nice. The 2-ply was easy to work with in applying items to board.
