    Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there an XLR transmitter available for purchase that will work with this receiver, for using on the end of a boom pole?

A: Unfortunately, there is currently no available XLR plug on transmitter available for the AVX wireless system.

Q: 2. Purchased the AVX system and love it. I have misplaced (lost) the Cl 400 XLR to 1/8 cable and the EKP adapter to use with my DSLR. I need to purchase these items but, can not find them anywhere. Have checked B&H and the Sennsheiser site. Any suggestions?

A: Bummer! Beyond the website, I would call both B&H as well as Sennheiser. I'm sure there are individual parts available. Good luck! Great unit, isn't it!!Ron Robinson

Q: 3. I am traveling overseas - with this AVX system can I use it in Europe and Israel/ Jordan?

A: I would think so...there should not be any interference or signal distortion.

Q: 4. Can you run 2 body transmitters with one receiver?

A: Sorry, Derek, you cannot. Neither can you run one transmitter and use two receivers. It is a 'closed system' - one Tx to one Rx. Once paired, they communicate with each other to adjust signal level and/or instantly switch to a different channel if interference is encountered.

Q: 5. Could a client use this audio equipment for their webinars?

A: It would be really useful if you give say blackboard talks and you record or broadcast the video. In a pro setting, TV anchors would use it. If you have someone who turns their head a lot, say takes audience questions from all sides, you may want a face mic instead of this lapel mic, but that's more visible overall.

Q: 6. If I want to use two of these mics(ie. 2 seperate mics and recievers), will they operate normally? Will they interfere with each other?

A: From what I read and what I was told they should operate perfectly .

Q: 7. Will this plug in directly to my sony a7s 2 or do I need a xlr adaptor???

A: These come with a XLR to Quarter Inch adapter. Perfect for use with just about any camera.

Q: 8. Is it possible to power the transmitter while in use from an external power source?

A: The receiver battery can be charged while in use. It is smaller than the transmitter batteries in order to keep the receiver tiny and plug two next to each other into a camcorder with two XLRs. With a Mophie you get literally unlimited operating time. The transmitter batteries last some 15 hours, they cannot be charged while in use.

Q: 9. Just bought this and tried it out once. I'm not a professional videographer and have to create short videos for work. It seemed simple to set up but when I went to edit the video the sound is incredibly distorted. It sounds like it's playing through a blown out speaker. I've tried playing it on multiple devices so I know it is not my computer. Did I somehow set it up incorrectly? Very confused. Thanks

A: You may need to make adjustments to the settings for the receiver's output level or the camera's input level. If your camera has an automatic level control, you will need to deactivate it. The receiver also has an automatic level control which can't be deactivated, so you don't want the camera and receiver to interfere with each other as they are making their adjustments. You may also want to check the setting for the camera's input sensitivity level and lower it, if needed. You can check the output level display on the camera while using the mic. You should see the level peak when the mic is picking up louder audio, but it should not be clipping. If necessary, you can adjust the receiver's output level using the AF Out button on the receiver. Please feel free to contact us if you are still having trouble. We will be happy to help.

Q: 10. What is the usable operating range for this product (max distance between transmitter and receiver)?

A: I don't know exactly but I tested mine out and it was FAR! With nothing blocking the distance between the transmitter and receiver I got clean audio from my house to the end of my street which is about 6 houses down. My gues would be at least 600 feet. The only reason that I didn't test it further is because my street came to an end and I know that I most likely will never come close to even needing that much distance. I absolutely love this system.

I use a mic for my outdoor channel and this Metal screen perfectly replaced the one that goes to the Tascam DR-10L
